‘Real Housewives of Orange County’: 'Injured' Shannon asked if she wants to press assault charges against Kelly
‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Shannon Beador wanted to attain a “zen-state” on her retreat to a wellness resort in Miraval, Arizona. But the 55-year old housewife had anything but a zen state of mind during the trip with her fellow housewives. Shannon who is known amongst the group for her firm belief in spirituality and alternative and holistic living thought it would be a great idea for her and her girlfriends to find some peace and calm at the luxurious wellness resort, but Kelly Dodd’s playful prank didn’t sit too well with Shannon.
From the time the ladies set foot in the resort, Shannon was put off by Kelly’s “negative energy”. Kelly who jokes about the huge gong at the entrance by calling it a dong ends up annoying Shannon, who feels that Kelly is making a mockery of the entire trip. Things just kept spiraling from then on. Shannon arranged for a sound bath for the ladies and herself. At the end of the sound bath, the healers ask if anybody wants to volunteer to get their energy cleansed and expand their aura by standing in a metal bowl and having another metal bowl placed on their head. The healer begins to tap the bowls gently with a large mallet.
Kelly who finds the entire thing bizarre and amusing decides to pull a prank on Shannon by grabbing a large mallet herself and hitting it on Shannon’s head. After the cleansing is done, Shannon complains that her head was hurting because one of the taps was a bit stronger than the others. The ladies then reveal that Kelly hit her on the head with a mallet. Shannon immediately calls out Kelly and tells her off by saying that it wasn’t funny and that she hurt her.
Shannon, who is a known hypochondriac begins obsessing over it. She complains to Tamra that her left eye’s vision is blurred. Tamra, the official pot-stirrer of this season pushes Shannon to the edge by recounting her ex-husband’s head injury which led to spinal fluid drain. Shannon begins getting anxious. To calm her down Tamra takes her to the emergency room. At the hospital, a nurse is shown asking Shannon if she wants them to call the police to press charges against Kelly as it was technically an assault. We don’t know what Shannon says because the episode ended, but based on the cliff-hanger to the next episode, things between Kelly and Shannon appear to be tense, as we see the ladies getting into a heated argument. We are guessing that Shannon will not press charges against Kelly, but will continue giving Kelly a hard time about her behavior.
Kelly, on the other hand, predicts that Shannon will behave the exact same way to Emily and Braunwyn. She calls Shannon a “dumbass” and “full of crap”. Fans appear to be taking Kelly's side on this and feel that Shannon is over-reacting. A fan wrote, "Shannon is overreacting like usual. Kelly barely hit her, & Tamra is such an instigator. Nothing new here @RHOC_KellyDodd #RHOC".
Another fan wrote, "I think Shannon is completely overreacting, she didn’t even flinch when @RHOC_KellyDodd hit her with the mallet. So, it couldn’t have hurt that much! #RHOC". Another fan pointed out how Shannon began her drama only after she found out that Kelly hit her. "Lol, Shannon wasn’t even feeling that bad until she found out it was @RHOC_KellyDodd that whacked her on the head. Overreact much? #RHOC."
