Reba McEntire irked by her once 'subservient' boyfriend Rex Linn's newfound confidence
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rex Linn is apparently standing up for himself a lot lately, and his "new bossy ways" are not sitting well with his girlfriend Reba McEntire. A source close to the couple claimed Rex was a "subservient puppy dog" when they first started dating, but the worm has since turned.
The insider said things changed a lot after the pair started working together, especially on the recent Lifetime movie 'The Hammer.' Rex, who was once content to bask in his beau's glory, now "considers himself an authority" in the relationship, they added.

'He considers himself an authority'
"The best thing and the worst thing is that he loves to rehearse," a source close to Reba, 68, reportedly said, as quoted by Radar Online. "The worst thing is he makes me rehearse all the time." The 66-year-old actor has reportedly started throwing his weight around. "Rex has a great acting résumé, true, but he considers himself an authority and makes Reba rehearse with him for hours," the insider told Radar Online. "She thinks it's overkill and totally unnecessary, and he's constantly correcting her and giving pointers, which annoys her. He's found his voice and confidence during rehearsals and Reba has seen a big change in him that she doesn't like." The pal further spilled, "She's not exactly keen on working with him so much anymore. She misses the guy who put her on a pedestal."
The famous couple also plays husband and wife on the series 'Big Sky' -- and insiders claim the experience impacted Reba's thoughts on tying the knot with Rex. "We get along so well the way we are, why rock the boat," Reba told E! News in January. According to insiders, however, "She loves the guy, but wishes he'd get off her back sometimes." On the other hand, Reba apparently isn't the easier person to work with, with sources telling Radar Online she was meddling in her former daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson's personal life.
'Things are really tense between them'
Reba allegedly tried everything she could to mend Kelly's broken marriage to her ex-stepson Brandon Blackstock, something that annoyed the 'Stronger' hitmaker to no end.
"They have to play nice for the cameras, but things are really tense between them. Reba's got it in her head that Kelly should take Brandon back, which has really upset Kelly," an insider with knowledge revealed to the outlet. The 'American Idol' winner and her former manager finalized their divorce in 2022, ending their six-year union after a bitter court battle. "But for some reason, Reba just can't accept that it's over," the source added, claiming Kelly wasn't too happy with Reba intruding in her personal life.
McEntire first met Linn while they both were working on the Kenny Rogers movie 'The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.' "We kept in contact over the years, we both know the same people," she explained during an appearance on 'What Happens Live with Andy Cohen'. "So it was just like good friends getting back together and having dinner ... then we started texting and talking on the telephone and getting to know each other better during the quarantine."
During an episode of her ‘Living & Learning’ podcast, she further divulged, “I am dating a very very sweet heart of God, Rex Linn and we have been talking during the pandemic, we had dinner with Rex in January, and then in February, in the middle of the pandemic, we were talking, texting, Facetime. And that's a really good way to get to know people.” The ‘Consider Me Gone’ singer also said she felt like a “giddy teenager again” after getting into a relationship with the actor.
