Who is CL?
CL, whose real name is Lee Chae-rin, recently released her track 'Post Up' along with a music video. Taking to Instagram, she said, "'Post Up' is a short video that I’m releasing ahead of my new album as a thank you to all of my GZBz. I hope you will all enjoy my special gift."
'Post Up' is CL’s first release since last year's EP titled 'In the Name of Love' which was released after her three-year hiatus from 2016 to 2019. The rapper also said that she will drop a brand new album and single next month, and 'Post Up' serves as the intro to the release.
After joining YG Entertainment at the age of 15, CL debuted as a member of the girl group 2NE1 in 2009. The group went on to become one of South Korea's most popular and successful girl groups worldwide.
CL embarked on her solo career in 2015 after 2NE1 went on an indefinite hiatus. In November 2016, YG Entertainment officially announced 2NE1's disbandment after almost 2 years of hiatus. CL stayed a solo act under YG until December 2019 and, eventually, left the label and released her solo EP 'In the Name of Love'.
As a featured artist, CL has rapped on tracks such as 'Dirty Vibe' by Skrillex featuring Diplo and G-Dragon, 'Surrender' by Lil Yachty featuring Shaiana, 'Dopeness' by The Black Eyed Peas, and 'Cut It Up' by PKCZ featuring Afrojack. Her track 'No Better Feelin' was featured on the soundtrack of the hit animated movie 'My Little Pony: The Movie'.
