Multi-award-winning Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Daddy Yankee grabs his eighth straight No. 1 of the year, and 18th overall, on the Latin Airplay chart with 'Que Tire Pa Lante' hitting No. 1 in its eighth week on the list. According to Billboard, the feel-good upbeat reggaetón track, released October 18, adds to the list of now 18 leaders on the chart for Daddy Yankee which dates back to 2005 when the 15-week ruler 'Rompe' arrived at No. 1 in its fourth week.

'Que Tire Pa Lante' features uncredited cameos by Anuel AA, Darell, Natti Natasha, Wisin and Lennox, and focuses on a girl who is a great dancer whom the artist compliments by asking “que tire pa’ lante?,” asking her to flaunt more of her dance moves.

Yankee now ties with J Balvin for the second-most leaders on Latin Airplay which began in 1994, both with 18, trailing only Enrique Iglesias who continues at the helm with 30, according to Billboard.

Meanwhile, Daddy Yankee experienced a little blooper while performing during the first installment of his Con Calma Pa’l Choli tour. The first night was bruised by a technical problem in the middle of the show.

Daddy Yankee was singing 'Somos de Calle,' on a platform at the top of the venue which was supposed to descend, but malfunctioned, leaving the singer hanging in the rafters.

According to Remezcla, his producer Rafael Pina made an announcement on December 10, clarifying the arrangement for fans: Anyone who attended the Thursday, December 5, concert were welcome to attend a free show on Saturday, December 14, at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The announcement came around the time that Daddy Yankee was facing other recent troubles surrounding the shooting at Coliseo de Puerto Rico which was reported hours after his show on Saturday night (December 7). No deaths or injuries were reported, however, and the Puerto Rico police report said that they found more than 100 bullets and broken glass doors in the main entrance.

Pina posted a video on his Instagram account, stating, “Attention my people, all those who went to enjoy the Yankee show last Thursday: For technical reasons, there was a failure on the stage and as you saw, two or three songs were lost. As a gift, [Daddy] Yankee offered to make up a show special for you, so stay tuned.”
