‘Could bring the boys back together’: Princess Diana's ex-butler Paul Burrell keen on sharing 'her secrets’ with Prince William and Harry
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Former butler to Princess Diana says he's eager to "share her secrets" with Prince William and Prince Harry after recently finding out about his prostate cancer. Paul Burrell, who was once referred to as "Rock" by Princess Diana, now feels burdened by the secrets she confided in him during the course of their relationship and wants to share them with her sons "before it's too late."
Burrell had disclosed that he had prostate cancer while appearing on ITV's 'Lorraine' on January 30. He acknowledged that he was feeling "tired" when asked about his health, making it more crucial than ever to tell the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex what he knows about their mother. The former butler and confidante, who had worked for Diana for ten years prior to her passing in 1997, asserts that the information he possesses "could bring the boys back together," which Diana "would have desperately wanted."

Burrell stated, "I know some of it isn't pretty, but if I leave this place and go somewhere else they'll never know. I think they should know. I think Diana would say to me, 'Paul, you must make this a priority. You must go and see my boys,'" according to Mirror.
When Burrell revealed last month that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he said he was concerned he wouldn't have enough time to "tell them the truth." He has claimed Diana called him "the only man she ever trusted" and has previously referred to himself as her "best friend." The former butler declares that he wants to "do his bit" to improve the two brothers' rocky relationship.
'Milking' Princess Diana's tragic death
Harry accused Burrell in his memoir 'Spare' of "milking" Diana's sad death for cash when he released his 2001 book 'A Royal Responsibility', which contained a plethora of personal insights. He stated, "Mummy's former butler had penned a tell-all which actually told nothing," according to Daily Mail.
Harry added, "It was merely one man's self-justifying, self-centering version of events. My mother once called this butler a dear friend, trusted him implicitly. We did too. Now, this. He was milking her disappearance for money. It made my blood boil."
Harry claimed that he intended to fly home to "confront" Burrell but then Charles and William persuaded him otherwise by saying they could only "issue a united condemnation." Burrell responded to Harry's accusation that he was "milking" the situation by saying that he didn't recognize "the young man I see today," according to Daily Mail.
Burrell stated that Harry had "changed fundamentally," and his mother would be "appalled." He said, "She would be angry at these personal, vindictive revelations which don't just undermine Harry, but his country, his family, the institution – which his mother was very proud of – and his late grandmother's legacy."
Burrell claimed that Meghan Markle, Harry's wife, was "driving him behind the scenes" and was to blame for the duke's "vindictive" behavior, according to Daily Mail. "This isn't just a book written by Harry… Meghan's had a huge influence on this book. She's beside him steering him on his path. You can't just blame Harry. You have to blame the both of them," Burrell stated.
