'Press' Episode 2 trailer shows Duncan's wife wants to save their marriage while Holly gets involved in an investigation

The six-part show 'Press' portrays the lives of journalists in two competitive newspapers - The Herald and The Post - which run by different ideals. The Herald sticks by a set code of ethics and rules that modern newspapers consider archaic, especially with the onset of new media journalism.

The Post, on the other hand, embraces every new way available in the industry to run the publication. They cater to an audience who loves sensational headlines and gossipy columns over hard news.

Holly Hunter (Charlotte Riley) of The Herald and Duncan Allen (Ben Chaplin) of the Post give us two perspectives about what it really means to be a journalist at this age and time. In the second episode of the show, the two will continue on the same path.

According to the episode's description by PBS, Holly Hunter will take over an important investigation because she is not convinced of her junior reporter Leona Manning-Lynd's (Ellie Kendrick) capabilities. This is not surprising considering how Holly reacted to her flatmate's death, which was a result of a hit-and-run by a police patrol car.

She not only returned to work the same day but also wrote up the report regarding the incident for The Herald. When Holly learned the proof of the hit-and-run committed by a patrol car can only be acquired by the Post, she approached Duncan directly.

Despite the brewing animosity between the two newspapers and ideological differences with Duncan, she got in touch with him to bring the truth to light. So, by taking over the investigation in the next episode, we can expect Holly to uncover something impressive.

Duncan, on the other hand, is expected to see some developments at home according to the trailer that was released. His wife wants to save their marriage. What that would entail is something we would have to watch out for in the next episode.

Duncan also continues to run a tight ship at the Post and one of his great ideas for the week includes Ed Washburn (Paapa Essiedu) dressing up as a polar bear to attend a society party. Finally, it also looks like Duncan and Holly are on speaking terms after he helped her get the CCTV footage of her flatmate's accident in the previous episode.

'Press' Episode 2 to air on Masterpiece at 10 pm ET.
