Musician Phoebe Bridgers have made her relationship with Irish actor Paul Mescal official with a little help from social media. The singer-songwriter took to her Instagram account over the weekend to send their fans into a frenzy. The Los Angeles native shared a cozy picture of the two and captioned it with nothing but emoticons of three red hearts.
The ‘Kyoto’ hitmaker can be seen wearing a black leather jacket as she smiles while getting a kiss on the head from the love of her life Paul Mescal. The 25-year-old actor looked dapper in a black Prada zip-up over a similar black hoodie. The two seem to be having a ball together as they enjoy a scenic view in the background. Phoebe Bridgers is a successful musician whereas, Paul shot to fame with his work in Hulu’s miniseries ‘Normal People’.

The first connect
Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal first connected via social media. Their very first interaction happened on Twitter in May 2020 after the Grammy-nominated crooner shared a post about his hit TV series. Mescal had reverted to the post leading to a short but flirty interaction. Paul Mescal then followed the singer on Instagram and speaking about the same, Phoebe later told NME, “I got a little pitter-patter in my heart when I saw.” She reportedly then sent him a copy of her album, ‘Punisher’, even before it hit the streaming platforms.
A source had also spilled the beans to The Sun about the two, as reported by the Daily Mail, “Paul invited pals, and they played wild drinking games. They’re both smitten. His membership on the celeb dating site Raya is a smokescreen to cover up that they’re secretly an item.”

The rumors phase
Just like every other celebrity couple, Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal too enjoyed the rumors of their relationship being circulated everywhere. The duo was papped having breakfast together at Lemon Leaf Cafe in Cork, Ireland, in July 2020. They had also reportedly spent a romantic vacation together in London in August 2020. Paul further dropped hints when he spoke to British GQ in November 2020 saying that he had someone in his life. “To have someone to lean on through such a mad, mad time has been invaluable”, adding, “Really, I don’t know where I’d be without her.”
In April 2021, Phoebe teased her fans about her dating Paul by just saying that he was the best. Paul was later seen in a music video that was conceptualized by ‘Fleabag’ creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Phoebe Bridgers. The video was called ‘Savior Complex’. The video further got the rumors swirling about their already hyped relationship. The two later celebrated 2021 Halloween together as their pictures made it to Instagram via their common friends.
The red carpet debut
After almost a year-and-a-half of hide-n-seek with their fans and the media, Phoebe and Paul made their red-carpet debut at the 2021 LACMA Art+Film Gala in November. The two were spotted smiling, flirting, and getting all cozy together. This was their very first official public appearance before Phoebe finally shared it all on Instagram.
