My Chemical Romance drops another dark teaser in silent video 'MCRXX' that hints at something big coming soon
My Chemical Romance has revealed a slew of strange things. The emo alternative rock band has dropped yet another dark teaser following their first UK tour announcement teased with 'An Offering…' which was revealed on January 20.
This time the group unveiled a silent video, 'MCRXX', in similar occultic vibes to the previous teaser.
At the end of the video, we are given the date and time of something to come, slotted for 8.35 am PT on Wednesday, January 29, and will be revealed on the band's YouTube page and official site.
'An Offering...', with an eery background score, presented the main figure in a cape that displays a crucifix-like symbol on the back as they move through the woods with several other cloaked figures.
Eventually, the group reaches a pentagram where the main figure pushes a dagger into the ground at the center of the pentagram. Although not identical, the crucifix symbol looks very similar to the 'MCRX' one that launched a whole slew of reunion theories in 2016.
In 'MCRXX', we see another cloaked figure. This time, instead of daggers, skeletons and woods, the mysterious figure moves about a dark, creepy, candle-lit room after putting on a pair of black Converse and a flannel with their cloak.
The cloaked person reaches a pentagram on the floor with an ouija board and some My Chemical Romance CDs — 'The Black Parade', 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' and 'I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love'.
Fans immediately started speculating as to what the band is up to. Some were reminded of an Instagram post shared on January 7 from the set of a music video, hashtagged as #musicvideolife.
Although it has not been confirmed, the post was for My Chemical Romance, the cloak and pentagram share a curious similarity to the MCRXX teaser.
