The exhilarating Season 2 of ‘Pennyworth’ has finally come to an end with a thrilling episode that would definitely leave fans feeling all kinds of emotions. Alfred (Jack Bannon), Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), Martha Kane (Emma Paetz) and Lucius Fox (Simon Manyando) are doing everything they can to save London from the wrath of Raven Union.
In the penultimate episode, we saw Alfred and company getting inside the Union’s headquarters in order to steal “Project Stormcloud”. After a lot of tries, they finally manage to secure the deadly bio-weapon and fans certainly believed that the war is finally coming to an end. However, the finale takes the viewers for a spin and bombards them with a lot of shocking twists.

'Pennyworth' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Who is the mystery man supporting the Raven Union?
First things first, the thing secured by Alfred and his team is “not” Stormcloud. Yes, you heard that right. In the first minutes of the finale, we see Colonel John Salt (Edward Hogg) talking to the head of the military, General Nelson Thursday (Tristram Wymark), about the recent events. While talking to the General, Salt reveals that Stormcloud is safe and secure at a location in Central London. On the other hand, PM Victor Aziz (Ramon Tikaram) and other members of the League get to know that what they have is not “Stormcloud”.
Aziz tells Alfred about the dangerous situation and talks to his father about how he has lied about wanting to come back to his family. Alfred is angry because he knows that everything has been a lie and his father knows that everyone is going to die as the Union is ready to use the bio-weapon on the people of London. However, his father Arthur Pennyworth tells him about the location where ‘Stormcloud’ is stored.
Alfred and Dave Boy (Ryan Fletcher) reach a church and find out that Stormcloud is present inside Lord James Harwood’s (Jason Flemyng) coffin. They open the coffin and as they were set to neutralize the threat, a gunman comes in and starts shooting at them. However, the shooter is killed eventually by none other than Gulliver Troy (James Purefoy), who has now joined the good guys.
How did the League get to know about the fake ‘Stormcloud’?
The entire team of Prime Minister was happy that they have finally secured the weapon. Suddenly, Troy enters the same room and asks about Alfred. His eyes are set on the shiny blue thing on the table and he grabs it. However, the capsule falls on the ground and breaks. To everyone’s surprise, nothing happens when they inhale the gas that comes out of the capsule.
They soon get to know that the team had a fake version of Stormcloud. Meanwhile, Alfred tells Aziz that he knows where the real version of the bio-weapon is stored. Gulliver and Fox reach the church in order to save Alfred from the gunman and the deadly weapon.
Fox tries hard to defuse the bomb and says it should be thrown into the ocean. But, they don’t have time. So, Gulliver gets the idea of swallowing the capsule and save millions of lives. He swallows the capsule and is not able to breathe properly, making his skin turn a purplish-blue color.
He falls on the ground and soon we see that Troy is lying on the floor lifeless. However, a few moments later, something peculiar happens.
Did Troy survive Stormcloud?
Everyone believes that Gulliver has died and they take him inside a van which will be able to control the radiation. As soon as they start leaving, the car shakes and a strange blue light starts emerging from the back of the van. Alfred opens the door and sees Gulliver screaming loudly. But fans might get disappointed after seeing that scene because the makers don’t show what exactly happens to him. But yes, it is CONFIRMED that Troy is still alive.
The reason behind his survival is currently unknown because in the earlier episodes we saw that Stormcloud is very dangerous and can kill anyone in a matter of seconds. So, how did he survive such a deadly weapon? The curiosity to have an answer to this burning question might frustrate some fans because, in the ending moments of the finale, we see that Troy has now been turned into a weapon and has the power to live with Stormcloud inside his body and the Armed Forces are now using him to defeat the Raven Union.
The end of Season 2 makes us believe that Season 3 could be announced really soon because the war is not over. As a matter of fact, it has just begun.
