Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Pearl Jam have unveiled news on January 13 that can fill the black hole in many rock 'n' roll fans' hearts; they will be releasing a new album this year! Hard rock lovers can rejoice as the album will release as early as March 27. The tracklist for the LP was recently announced January 20 and you can find it below.

Along with the 'Gigaton' news, the band also announced a tour set to kick off March 18 in Toronto and the final performance concluding with two two-night performances in Los Angeles and Oakland in mid-April.

The last trip for the band to the recording studio was for their tenth studio album 'Lightning Bolt', released in 2013. Now, the long-awaited March release will be titled 'Gigaton'.

Additionally, according to Variety, a debut single from the album, titled 'Dance of the Clairvoyants' is just around the corner and will be available on all streaming platforms and radio stations starting Tuesday, January 22, 2020, according to Pearl Jam Online.

It should be noted, though, that 'Gigaton' does not include their most recent song, 2018’s 'Can’t Deny Me', released as part of their Ten Club fan club. Lead guitarist Mike McCready acknowledged it has been a long interval for the band and said in a statement, "Making this record was a long journey. It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on ‘Gigaton’ ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

The new album cover deemed 'Ice Waterfall' by marine biologist Paul Nicklen features the Nordaustlandet ice cap with a few streams of meltwater bursting through into the sea, perhaps suggesting the public to have awareness of the current state of the world's climatic changes.

It is beautiful, one might add, but coupled with darker, colorless tones it leaves one to ponder on the looming idea that we need to take a step back and observe the current state of the Earth. You can view the cover here
