PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Fans would have been delighted to learn that 'The Wendy Williams Show' might be getting a remake with the help of CNN. Although specifics are still unknown, a close associate of her team initially claimed that Wendy Williams was approached by the network with a concept for a new daytime talk show. However, WDAS radio personality, Patty Jackson does not feel that Wendy is ready for anything at the moment.

Jackson took to her 'Thursday Curls and Scoop' segment on her YouTube channel to address why Wendy Williams is not ready for CNN. Wendy's ongoing illness and drug issues reportedly led to the cancellation of the Emmy-winning 'Wendy Williams Show' in 2022. The news of her divorce from her ex-husband Kevin Hunter and subsequent Graves disease issues have persisted in the public domain since the time.

'She's not okay'

In the YouTube video, Jackson talks about how CNN is trying to change its image by bringing on Gayle King and Charles Barkley to host a new prime-time show in the fall. This is followed by former US President Donal Trump who will be hosting a town hall next week. Jackson went on to address Wendy getting back her Emmy-winning 'Wendy Williams Show' on CNN. The veteran radio personality paused for a second and said, "I'm giving this one little side eye cause Wendy is not well."

"She's not... I'm telling you it's there's some things going on and they're saying that CNN says once she gets over health issues," Jackson continues, "It's more than health issues, it's more than health issues. Wendy is not in the right frame now. This could be stories being put out for her people to make you think that she's okay but Aunties is here to tell you she's not okay."

"I wish she was okay," Jackson added. Auntie further speculates that if Wendy returns, it would be rated gold but not if she's not in the right frame of mind. "I don't want to see Wendy in some kind of altered state. We want the Wendy that we know and that we love, not what's going on," Auntie emphasized. Jackson went on to stress that Wendy had been very much affected by the events in her life which include losing her mom, her divorce from Kevin Hunter, and her alcohol and drug abuse, which is a lot.

Wendy Williams and her health issues

MEAWW earlier reported that the famous talk show anchor has been candid about her health issues when she lifted her foot during a TMZ Live interview in June 2022 to demonstrate how bloated and discolored it had become due to her lymphedema. Nearly five years ago, Wendy passed out live on-air during the Halloween episode of her daytime talk show, which she blamed on heat exhaustion and dehydration while wearing her Statue of Liberty costume.

After Kevin had a child with his mistress Sharina Hudson, Wendy filed for divorce from him in April 2019. She claimed that Kevin had sent her to rehabilitation in error and that she didn't genuinely need to lose weight following their divorce. She said in a DJ Suss One interview from 2021 that she had been "locked away in a rehabilitation for something I didn't have to be rehabbed by."

'CNN is using Wendy for black viewership!'

Social media users immediately took to the YouTube comment section to express their concern over Wendy's health issues and her return to CNN. One such user commented, "You look really nice in that color! I like you in solid colors. Keep sharing your testimony, Patty. God kept you and your smooth voice for a reason. CNN is using Wendy for black viewership! Prayers for Wendy and Jaime."

A second one commented, "Wendy's not ready for CNN." Another one commented, "I hope Wendy pumps the brakes on going to CNN." Someone else responded, "Wendy is not ready for anything. Sending healing energy to her."

"Wendy Williams is not ready for prime time, daytime, or anytime. Her mental capacity is obviously diminishing. I wish someone in her life gave a d*** to help her get long-term cognitive and mental/substance abuse treatment. Prayers up for her too, up for all of us," wrote someone else.

Another comment read, "Wendy has not been okay for a long time." "It would be exploitive for Wendy to go to CNN. Not a good move for either of them. I hope it's an unfounded rumor," read another comment.
