Bono's daughter reveals Nepo-shaming New York Mag president Pamela Wasserstein IS A 'NEPO BABY' herself

'In a beautiful turn of events, I have just been informed that Pamela Wasserstein, the CEO of @NYMag, is a nepo baby herself. Her dad bought the magazine in 2004,' tweeted Eve Hewson

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After the magazine's hit piece about actors from famous families went viral, the head of New York Magazine's parent firm was criticized for being a "nepo baby" herself by Bono's daughter, Eve Hewson. Pamela Wasserstein, 44, took over as president of the publisher's parent business, Vox, after being named CEO of New York Media in 2016. Bruce Wasserstein, the father of Wasserstein, paid $55 million to purchase the publication in 2004. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 61, but Wasserstein and her two brothers, Ben and Scoop, kept the company going.

The 'Bad Sisters' actress and daughter of Bono, Eve Hewson, criticized Wasserstein on Twitter on Thursday, December 22, in response to the publication of the New York Magazine cover entitled "The Year of the Nepo Baby," earlier in the week. Hewson is a nepo baby too, but unlike Dakota Johnson, Maya Hawke, Lily Rose Depp, and Zo Kravitz, she was not included in the magazine's piece — something that Hewson also complained about on Twitter.

When Nate Jones, a senior writer for Vulture, spoke with managers and casting directors in the business, one of them said simply, "A lot of the children of famous people are not good." A veteran casting director recounted, "Someone once said to me, 'We should hire so-and-so because their parents will come to the opening night"', as cited by DailyMail. But, some riled up nepo infants are now disputing the assertions made in the magazine. Hewson made fun of the artwork and joked about getting "Nepo Baby tattooed" on her butt. She also suggested that "all the Nepo babies [should] unite and dress up as giant babies for Halloween."

Hewson also penned an Instagram comment defending Lily Rose Depp, who had been criticized by the publication and on TikTok last month for "being delusional" about her acting and modeling aspirations (at 5 feet 3 inches tall) since her parents are actors Johnny Depp and model-singer Vanessa Paradis. "New York Mag would gag to have Lily Rose Depp on their cover," Hewson wrote in the magazine's Instagram comments. "That's why they had to do this sub par article to get clicks. New York mag uses these kids to benefit themselves just like the kids use themselves to benefit. New York Mag is a bully and a hypocrite."

According to The New York Times, Wasserstein was recommended to succeed Adam Moss as CEO of New York Media when he approached her about the position in 2014. Moss previously told The Times that 'It’s all family, every aspect of this place," before Wasserstein, a former lawyer, assumed her current position as CEO of the media conglomerate.
