'Our Cartoon President' Season 3 Episode 11 Preview: Will Eric Trump develop 'miracle cure' for coronavirus?
Satire mirrors real life, and that's the case of 'Our Cartoon President'. After a lengthy hiatus, the animated parody is back and now we see Cartoon President Trump trying to convince people that he has got the crippling coronavirus pandemic under control. This is an America that can't comprehend the eloquence of Elizabeth Warren; they need more of clowning from Trump, and he knows his audience. Impeachment is just another word for him, and he wins everyone over with a speech that is eerily similar to what we've heard so many times. Trump has one job: to convince the people that he has managed to control the pandemic. His erstwhile campaign manager Kellyanne Conway helps him to center himself and find out how to win the people back, even if it includes wearing a hat and coming almost-shirtless to an important meeting. Hillary Clinton just keeps smiling benignly throughout the episode.
The basic point of the episode is what most of the world has been shouting from the rooftops: Most of what Trump says and does makes no sense and is a lot of waffle, but hey, he'll get the vote. As it's pointed out at the end of the episode, speeches and campaigns are bizarre and devoid of logic, which is exactly why people vote for him. In the next episode, Eric Trump promises a miracle cure for the pandemic.
The synopsis for the next episode reads, "Cartoon Joe Biden sets out to become the face of the Democratic Party; Cartoon Don Jr. and Cartoon Eric Trump try to develop a miracle cure for coronavirus." We've heard a lot from the real Donald Trump about the virus in this past year, so we wouldn't be surprised if he comes up with something like this as well.
The voice cast includes James Adomian, Paul Christie, Zach Cherry, Brett Davis, Anna Eilinsfeld, RJ Fried, Molly Gordon, Gabe Gundacker, James Monroe Iglehart, Mike Leech, Cody Lindquist, Emily Lynne, Griffin Newman, John Viener, Amanda Philipson, Matthew Piazzi, Jim Santangeli, Zach Smilovitz, Thomas Whittington, William Sadler, and Stephen Colbert. The show takes potshots at the relationships between the Cartoon President and his family as well as members of Congress, along with media and other political commentators.
'Our Cartoon President' airs on Showtime, Sundays at 8.30 pm ET/PT.
