Delroy Lindo vs Gary Oldman: ‘Da 5 Bloods’ star ROBBED at Oscar 2021 Best Actor Noms as ‘Mank’ actor steals the spot
The nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards are finally out and featured some unexpected twists. David Fincher’s ‘Mank’ led with 10 nods while ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’, ‘Minari’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Sound of Metal’, and ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ scored six nominations each.
However, Spike Lee’s ‘Da 5 Bloods’, which was considered to be a frontrunner at the Oscars, could only manage to garner one nod, and that too in the best original score category. Social media was not entirely happy with The Academy overlooking Delroy Lindo’s performance in the movie as he failed to get himself included in the group of actors nominated for the Best Actor accolade.

Many believed that Lindo deserved the nod instead of Gary Oldman. Oldman has been nominated for the top prize for his role in the movie ‘Mank’. The actor already has a golden statuette to his name for 2017’s ‘The Darkest Hour’.
Fans believe Delroy Lindo should remove Gary Oldman in the Best Actor category
The fans did not leave any stone unturned to make their voices heard on social media as they believed Lindo was much better than Oldman this year. Many said that Lindo was “robbed” of a nomination at Hollywood’s biggest night.
One user said, “Remove Gary Oldman and replace him with Delroy Lindo on the Oscar noms list, but also in general.” Another user said, “With respect to the #OscarNoms, one of the biggest snubs for me is Delroy Lindo missing out on a Best Actor nomination for Da 5 Bloods. It truly was one of the most moving performances of the year. I would easily swap him with Gary Oldman in that category.” Another user noted, “Delroy Lindo was right there but once again the Academy went “yeah but did you see the pounds of makeup on Gary Oldman’s face? It’s so transformative. So revolutionary. BEST ACTOR!”

Delroy Lindo really got it bad this Awards Season and I don’t know why. I’d swap him with Gary Oldman for sure. Kind of lame. Oh well. Still solid category here. Ahmed and Yeun and Boseman are fantastic. Again, gotta watch The Father still. https://t.co/Fr1AoBOmyC

As much as I loved Gary Oldman as Mank, that’s Delroy Lindo’s slot.
