Who will win the maximum Oscar awards in 2021? The nominations for the 93rd Annual Academy Awards were announced Monday morning, March 15, 2021, and definitely featured some unexpected twists. Movies like ‘Nomadland’ and ‘Mank’ were considered to be frontrunners for this year’s event and they certainly garnered numerous nominations. Meanwhile, ‘Borat 2’, ‘Promising Young Woman’ and ‘Minari’ gave a tough competition to the frontrunners by garnering multiple nominations across various categories.

The movie theatres in the US were forced to shut their door for the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The global health crisis also prompted the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to delay this year’s ceremony and change its eligibility criteria.

Yet filmmakers found a way to get their projects out via streaming, video-on-demand.

So who will make the cut, and who will be left out? Take a look at all the nominees in all the top categories. The nominations were announced by Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony will take place on April 25, 2021, at the Dolby Theatre and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network and in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
