'One World': Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello melt hearts, but some ask 'who tf invited her' to this show
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello sang 'What A Wonderful World' for 'One World: Together At Home' online concert and while most had nothing but love for the couple, some couldn't help but be bothered by them. Camila's racist past and the belief that her relationship with Shawn is a PR stunt continue to plague the young singer.
"I love you both so much. You have my whole heart. Thank you for making me smile so hard @Camila_Cabello @ShawnMendes," said one fan, while 96.1 Kiss FM tweeted, "Those smiles are everything. It’s impossible not to love @Camila_Cabello & @ShawnMendes! #TogetherAtHome"
Fans are already asking for an official version of the cover, stating "that was so so beautiful, imma need a studio version pls. proud of you both." Fans also tweeted about the couple's ability to put out good music, tweeting, "Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello surely are making a beautiful music together. #senorita" while another stated, "@Camila_Cabello and @ShawnMendes really do sound magical together though! That was so good! #TogetherAtHome"
Fans were also moved by the performance itself. "Wow!!!!!! they werr so outstanding, absolutely top of the world feeling," tweeted one fan, while another said, "Okay but im crying @Camila_Cabello the way im PROUD #OneWorldTogetherAtHome."
Many commended the duo for their song choice. "Well, Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello just slayed “What a Wonderful World” Wow!#OneWorldTogetherAtHome," tweeted one fan, and another said, "@ShawnMendes and @Camila_Cabello song for the One World Together at Home was so beautiful!! #OneWorldTogetherAtHome #COVID".
Naturally, some made jokes about the couple. "I think @ShawnMendes got dressed in @Camila_Cabello’s closet today," said one fan in jest.
But not all jokes were quite as benign.
Some fans were annoyed by what they believe is a PR stunt relationship, tweeting "@ShawnMendes + @Camila_Cabello even during this live event you still trying to fool us? I've had it." Others took issue with Cabello's voice, stating "Camilla cabello is so annoying and her voice is the worst and it makes me want to die. who tf invited her in this show?"
And others called out Cabello for her racist past, tweeting "Camilla cabello is a great live singer, but her music and she’s racist." And that basically completed the Holy Trinity of reasons why people hate Camila Cabello.
