Once targeted Welsh footballer Scott van-der Sluis prepares for comeback on spin-off show 'Love Island Games'

CONNAH'S QUAY, WALES: 'Love Island Games' a spin-off show of 'Love Island' is returning to your screens soon and you will get to see Scott van-der-Sluis in Peacock's upcoming series.

Scott is a 22-year-old football player. Previously, he was seen in 'Love Island UK' and 'Love Island USA.'

During his time in 'Love Island UK' Season 10, he paired up with Catherine Agbaje for the majority of the season. Then, he tested the waters with Amber Wise. He also coupled up with Abi Moores.

However, he was dumped from the villa on day 52.

Later on, he appeared in 'Love Island USA' Season 5 and was eliminated from the show alongside Johnnie Olivia after just a week in the villa. 

'Love Island' once received Ofcom complaints related to alleged bullying towards Scott van-der-Sluis 

During the show, there was a moment when viewers perceived Scott to be the target of bullying from the other cast members.

Subsequently, 'Love Island' faced a surge of nearly 1,000 Ofcom complaints within a week, with fans alleging that he was the victim of bullying, as per The Sun.

In an episode of the series, the athlete was forced to watch his former flame kissing Elom and being supported by other girls in the relationship.

Things took a nasty turn after Leah Taylor stated that Scott was single because "no one wanted him" at Casa Amor. Then, his clapback was appreciated by the viewers.

Scott van-der-Sluis left  Shelbourne FC to join Peacock's 'Love Island Games'

Scott left the League of Ireland club Shelbourne for the 'Love Island' villa. He signed a contract with Shelbourne in July 2022.

During an interview with BBC, the football player who previously played for Manchester United, Liverpool and Swansea said, "I've loved my time at Shels. Football is all I've ever done, all I've ever known. So this is a new and exciting opportunity for a change-up in life."

The Welshman further added, "Shels are a great club going in the right direction and I look forward to seeing what the lads can achieve. Shels is my club. I'll be cheering on the lads as a fan when I leave the villa."

Who is Scott van-der-Sluis planning to couple up with in 'Love Island Games'?

While making a recent appearance on the 'Saving Grace' podcast, the reality TV star was asked which Islander he would like to couple up with. Then, Scott said, "Maura [Higgins] would be decent."

Higgins is their social media ambassador and she did not take part in the dating show.

He said, "Maura’s a good-looking girl to be fair. I spent a lot of time with Maura as well because she does the after you’ve been dumped."

Why did Scott van-der Sluiss participate in 'Love Island USA'?

In an interview with Radio Times, the North Wales footballer said, "I have been single through my own choice as well as circumstances. I have moved around a lot with football and I've been based in Dublin playing football for over a year."

Scott further added, "I have been single for 3 and a half years so it's been a while so I'm ready and open to anything."

When he was questioned about falling in love, he said, "I'm a slow burner. It's only when I really think I'm losing them sometimes that I do."

'Love Island Games' airs on Wednesday, November 1, at 9 pm ET on Peacock.
