SANTA YNEZ, CALIFORNIA: Acclaimed actress and Grammy-award-winning singer Olivia Newton-John, who was best known for starring opposite John Travolta in the iconic flick ‘Grease’, died on Monday, August 8, peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California. She was 73. The unfortunate news of her demise was shared via Facebook where it was revealed that she breathed her last while being surrounded by family and friends. Olivia passed away after a 30-year battle with breast cancer.
Olivia is now survived by her husband John Easterling, daughter Chloe Lattanzi, sister Sarah Newton-John, brother Toby Newton-John, and a few other close relatives. Her ‘Grease’ co-star Travolta paid an emotional tribute to the actress. Australian crooner Kylie Minogue too took to Twitter among other celebrities to pay their final condolences. The news of Olivia Newton-John’s death comes months after the legendary actor and comedian Louie Anderson died on January 21. Bob Saget is another icon that Hollywood lost in January. Speaking of celebrity deaths, Betty White, Chick Vennera, Jay Black, and Jeanette Maus are other public figures who passed away last year leaving their loyal fans devastated.

Who is Olivia Newton-John's husband?
Olivia Newton-John married John Easterling in the year 2008 in an Incan spiritual ceremony in Peru. This was followed by a legal ceremony nine days later on Jupiter Island, Florida. Easterling is the founder and president of the Amazon Herb Company. The two first met in the 90’s through mutual friends but apparently fell in love around 2007. John Easterling helped Olivia throughout her battle with breast cancer.
Speaking in an interview with People magazine in 2021, she dubbed herself “very lucky” while talking about her husband. "I'm very lucky to be married to a wonderful man who is a plant medicine man, and he has great knowledge” adding, “Now he's growing medicinal cannabis for me, and it just has been wonderful. It helps me in every area."
Prior to getting married to John Easterling, the British-Australian actress and singer dated cameraperson Patrick McDermott around 1995. She was earlier married to her long-time, live-in boyfriend, actor Matt Lattanzi in 1984. The two split in the year 1995. One of Olivia’s earlier relationships included dating producer Bruce Welch in 1968 and in 1973, she made headlines for dating British businessman Lee Kramer, who was also her manager. The two parted ways in 1979.

Olivia’s ‘Grease’ co-star John Travolta paid her a final tribute on Instagram writing, “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!” Oz singer Kylie Minogue took to Twitter saying, “Since I was ten years old, I have loved and looked up to Olivia Newton John. And, I always will. She was, and always will be, an inspiration to me in so many, many ways. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”
