Spoilers for 'Norsemen' Season 3

The Norwegian comedy 'Norsemen' recently aired its third season, a prequel leading up to the events of Season 1. And while some dedicated fans had their fair share of complaints with the storyline this season (considering how there was little element of suspense), the show continues to maintain its position as one of the most brilliant comedies on the streaming site.

Although viewers knew where the season was headed, there are some unanswered questions that need to be resolved. The most important one being: will we see Frøya again? Played by Silje Torp, Frøya is the most beloved character in the Norwegian series. Married to the horribly inept Orm (Kåre Conradi), she also happens to be the strongest warrior in the Norheim tribe.

One of the most confusing parts about the first two seasons was why exactly did Frøya marry Orm in the first place — the two are worlds apart and Orm is literally the last person she would have tied the knot to. It is finally revealed in Season 3 when the show dabbles in the backstories of all its major characters. As it turns out, Chieftain Olav (Henrik Mestad), in a desperate bid to "make a man out of Orm" wants the nomad Frøya to marry his younger brother. Frøya only has one condition though - that she gets to be a warrior and go on raids to pillage and, well, rape.

And as agreed upon, they tie the knot sparking a very unconventional dynamic. The end of Season 1, the Vikings of Norheim manage to touch the land in the west successfully raiding it and bringing back slaves, Rufus (Trond Fausa) being one of them. This ending continues as Season 1 where the raiding party returns home after a long time away.

At the end of Season 2, Frøya is killed by Jarl Varg (Jon Øigarden) with his high-tech prosthetic arms — stabbed straight through the heart and lungs. There is no doubt she is dead. As her tribe and Arvid (Nils Jørgen Kaalstad) mourn her death, Jarl Varg celebrates finally getting his revenge. This revenge is a part of Orm and Rufus' treason against their own tribe. And so, by the end of the season, Arvid manages to transport the entire village towards the west abandoning the two and Liv (Kristine Riis) back in Norheim.

On the way, a heartbroken Arvid bids farewell to Frøya by throwing her body into the sea as the rest of the tribe mourns her departure. So there you have it. Frøya is gone for good. The question is are the creators done with her character for good too? Or will she return?

Did they take the shaman (Vidar Magnussen) along with them to the west? Perhaps he could help. The show is not yet officially renewed for a fourth season. We must wait to know about Frøya's fate on the show. All three seasons of 'Norsemen' are currently streaming on Netflix.
