Nicolas Cage turns 59: Actor is a 'phenomenal' grandfather and loves 'every second' of it
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: 'Ghost Rider' actor Nicholas Cage completed nearly six decades of his life as he turned 59 on Saturday, January 7. While there is no news about how the legendary actor celebrated the ocasion, it could be because of the busy year that he has ahead of him. On Friday, January 6, Cage had his first-ever Western film 'The Old Way', released in theaters whereas the actor is also prepping up to portray the iconic vampire character ‘Dracula’ in the upcoming "modern monster tale" 'Renfield' set to premiere on April 14.
Cage is also booked for three upcoming films scheduled to release in 2024. While the actor loves playing tough guys in his movies, there is something that he adores even more. During an interview with PEOPLE, it was revealed that Cage is "extremely loving" to his family, especially his grandchildren. "I love it. Every second," Cage told the outlet about being a grandfather on December 3, 2020. Cage is a grandfather to two boys Lucian and Sorin from his eldest son, Weston Cage. "It’s always great to have my family with me wherever I go and wherever I can. I always want to be there to support my kids in all the wonderful things they do," Cage shared.

His son Weston, on the other hand, admitted to Cage being very supportive as a father. "He’s very down-to-earth, extremely loving, and very intellectual," Weston said of his dad. "The amount of conversations we’ve had are extremely beautiful. I cherish them all." Westin further talked about how his father babysat then-13-month-old Lucian. "Sometimes. Lucian is very rowdy. So we all take turns making sure he’s stimulated. My dad loves him. He’s a phenomenal grandfather."
Weston has previously struggled to stay sober and the birth of his two sons has helped him a lot to pursue the path of sobriety. "It got to the point where people thought I was digging my grave," he told PEOPLE at the time, referring to his addiction. "Lucian’s saved both of our lives, and we are very blessed to have him. It’s just a very joyous time right now."
Danielle chimed in about the first time she met Weston. "When I met him, he was on his way to getting sober," Danielle told the outlet. "I could see he was trying so hard to make [his marriage] work even though he wasn’t being appreciated. My first bit of advice to him is you need someone who loves you as much as you love them." The pair tied the knot in England in 2013 and live a private life along with their children in Los Angeles. "Spending time with both of them is peaceful," Danielle shared. "We can be doing anything, and as long as we’re doing it together, it’s perfect."
