NFL Draft 2020: Did Kelly Clarkson lip-sync her live performance? Fans squabble on Twitter
NFL fans were not happy. Not one bit. Especially when it came to Kelly Clarkson's performance as their reactions were a mixed bag. The star's 'I Dare You' was called a lipsync by a majority of the fans, while a few came out in support of the star.
"They really asked Kelly Clarkson to lip-sync for the NFL draft preshow," asked one of the fans. "How are they going to play this dumb Kelly Clarkson Skype show on both ESPN and NFL Network during the #NFLDraft2020 ?" retorted a fan?
"Love some Kelly Clarkson, but why is she lipsyncing her song from her webcam on ESPN NFL draft coverage? What was that and who was it for?" tweeted another fan. And it continued.
"Someone please help me understand why Kelly Clarkson is on my TV screen lip singing during NFL draft coverage? ," said a fan. "I just tuned in to the NFL pre-draft show and it was kelly Clarkson singing on chat roulette from home...." another joked.
"Kelly Clarkson just lip-synced before the NFL draft. That's enough lockdown for one night" wrote one of the fans. "Kelly Clarkson lip-syncing her dogshit music from her basement on NFL network rn. Starting to think this corona shit is serious," opined one of them.
If this was one side, then came in the cavalry in support. "People seriously thought Kelly Clarkson lip-synced for the NFL draft performance?! Get real. That was live — if you don't believe me, listen to the recorded version where those big notes were more in the background. The recorded version is definitely different," one staunch fan tweeted.
And plus it was Clarkson's birthday, so her fans had another reason to celebrate. "Can't wait! #IDareYou @kellyclarkson Happy Birthday," tweeted another. "Watching Kelly on the NFL channel...that woman can sing!!! Damn!," wrote a fan.
"@kellyclarkson what a wonderful song in the NFL draft. You sounded fantastic!" said one who keenly followed the performance. "kellyclarkson @NFL @NFLDraft Very inspirational song and performance Kelly! Thank you!" exclaimed another.
"That performance on the ESPN NFL Draft pre-show was so beautiful! You have the most incredible, God-given talent! You are amazing! I needed that after a long week at work. Thank you!" a fan tweeted.
