Who is Mikel Welch?

Welch, the highly acclaimed interior designer and host of Quibi's unconventional show 'Murder House Flip', has achieved unparalleled success in the world of renovations. With a portfolio that includes being a former on-air personality of TLC's 'Trading Spaces' and being featured in magazines Architectural Digest, Traditional Home, and Elle Decor, Welch's talent has garnered widespread recognition.

It's safe to say that his exceptional expertise extends beyond the magazine features, as he has had the privilege of designing luxurious VIP green rooms for prominent celebrities such as First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Faith Hill, Steve Harvey, Harry Connick Jr, Joan Rivers, and Halle Berry. His ability to curate sophisticated spaces at an affordable price earned him a well-deserved place among House Beautiful's 2020 Next Wave designers. Notably, Welch's career in TV design came forth when Steve Harvey decided to hire him and feature the young designer on his show, according to House Beautiful.

From his early days constructing imaginary houses with Legos to his current position as the head of Mikel Welch Designs in New York, Welch's unwavering dedication to his craft and his impressive roster of celebrity clients have solidified his status as a trailblazing force in the industry. No wonder Netflix wanted him as the lead designer when they thought of launching a show like 'Hack My Home'.
