Judd Apatow’s latest movie ‘The Bubble’ has finally been released on Netflix and sees a group of actors trying to make a movie in the middle of a pandemic. The actors have gathered in England to shoot a movie and due to the raging pandemic, they are forced to live together in a hotel and spend some time in quarantine.

The cast loses its mind with all the halts in the production and makes a plan to escape the hotel. Carol (Karen Gillan) makes a lot of plans for escaping the hotel, but she realizes that they can only escape if the entire cast comes together. After losing hope, Carol and Dieter (Pedro Pascal) party at the hotel, and other stars – Dustin (David Duchovny) and Sean (Keegan Michael Key) – also join them at the party. They all go to Krystal (Iris Apatow), a renowned TikTok celebrity, and make a dance video. However, in the end, Dieter collapses on the floor and everyone tries to revive him. Everyone fails and they think that he is dead. But his love interest, Anika (Maria Bakalova), shoots him with medicine and brings him back.

Netflix 'The Bubble' Ending Explained: Did Carol and others manage to escape hotel?

The movie ends with the cast finally able to leave the hotel and shoot as they evade the security to board a helicopter. Meanwhile, Scott, who was shooting all the behind-the-scenes footage, releases the entire version in the style of a documentary and receives rave reviews. Although the movie has some really laugh-out-loud moments and an interesting concept, it doesn’t reach a point where people start investing in it.

However, there seems to be a huge divide among the critics and fans this time around. Critics have panned the movie for its ridiculous storytelling while fans are applauding the movie for having good, funny jokes even though they are silly in nature.

One of the fans said, “#TheBubble is actually very entertaining. I've audibly laughed multiple times. It's so ridiculous.” Another fan said, “Just watched #TheBubble and it’s everything I have ever wanted”.

“I can vouch for this. Funnier than I thought it would be for a COVID movie. Relatable!” said another fan. “Yeah, #TheBubble is a little bit of a mess, but it's a very funny mess. And since it's a comedy, what the hell else do you want?” wrote another one.

Meanwhile, one of the fans said, “Judd Apatow knocked it out of the park with #TheBubble It's hilarious, ridiculous, and downright entertaining from start to finish. I really, really love this cast lineup. As you're watching the movie, it genuinely feels like everyone had so much fun making it.”

But all reviews from fans were not that glaring. Some of the fans panned the movie as “boring” and not funny.

“I just wasted my time watching this movie. It started out ok then it just annoyed me after the first 30 min,” said one of the social media users. “#TheBubble was boring AF but I was only there for the Pedro Pascal scenes and that man served in every one of them because holy shit Dieter is just like me: unapologetically unhinged,” said another one.

The movie currently holds a 26% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also stars Leslie Mann, Fred Armisen, Peter Serafinowicz, Samson Kayo, Guz Khan, Harry Trevaldwyn, and Vir Das in pivotal roles.

‘The Bubble’ is currently streaming on Netflix.
