LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A good Korean drama isn't very hard to find. From the numerous titles, you can definitely get your pick. Netflix has been quite gracious in delivering content from all over the world. The platform's newest addition that also adds up to the great K-dramas list is 'Doctor Cha'. The episodes are released every Saturday and Sunday on Netflix. The show tackles many issues, from women's take on the world to how less-worthy women homemakers are considered to be.

In the first episode, Jung-sook, the lead of the show, is portrayed as a very fearful person who can't take her own decisions and is entirely dependent on her husband, who is a well-known doctor at a university hospital in Seoul. But things start to change when Jung-sook gets infected with liver disease and comes back from the brink of death. Episode 2 takes you on a joyride and shows Jung-sook in a new light.

Transformation and revival

Episode 2 was as phenomenal as the previous episode and brought light to what we are going to witness in the upcoming episodes. The tough call of who is the best match for Jung-sook's liver surgery and her husband not being ready to donate his liver to his dying wife brings forth a new perspective to Jung-sook. After a brain-dead person's liver is used to make her better, she comes back fierce with an added zest for life.

An iconic comeback

The series perfectly portrays the situation women are in whenever they get sick. When Jung-sook comes back from her surgery and visits home, all her chores are already awaiting her, after which she starts to think about what she means to her family. The entire thing comes crashing down when her husband asks her to file for disability so they can really use a parking space in this brutal economy. In addition to that, there's all the other everyday mistreatment over things like bad coffee beans, breakfast choices, and making healthy juice for her mother-in-law.

To stop feeling sorry for herself, Jung-sook goes on a shopping rampage, starts being brutally honest with her husband, and goes back to being the passionate person she was before she got married and had children.
