'Doctor Cha' on Netflix: Meet the cast of Korean medical drama series

The first season will consist of 16 episodes, with two episodes released every week for eight weeks

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Korean dramas have taken the cinema world by storm and have made an impact on how the world must create TV shows. The newest addition to the K-drama list is 'Doctor Cha' on Netflix. The show will soon premiere on Netflix and must be added to your watchlist, as it comes with many tear-jerking moments, sarcasm, and a heartfelt storyline. The story is about a woman, who gives up her medical career to focus on her home life. After twenty years, when she finally steps into the medical world, she has to take in all the struggles to find her footing in a job full of surprises.

The first season will consist of 16 episodes, with two episodes released every week for eight weeks. New episodes will be available every Saturday and Sunday until the series finale on Sunday, June 4. The show features many well-known actors, like Kim Byung-chul and Uhm Jung-hwa in the lead.

Kim Byung-chul

Kim Byung-chul is a South Korean actor. He rose to fame after playing the character of Cha Min-hyuk in the television series 'Sky Castle'. The actor is also known to have made his presence known in television dramas such as 'Descendants of the Sun', 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God' and 'All of Us Are Dead'.

Uhm Jung-hwa

A South Korean singer and actor, she is considered one of the most influential women in Korean cinema. Uhm Jung-hwa is the best example of getting the best of both worlds, finding rare success in both music and film. Her growing career and influence have got the nickname, where fans call her 'Korean Madonna'. She starred in the 1993 romance drama film, 'On a Windy Day, We Must Go to Apgujeong', and released her debut studio album, 'Sorrowful Secret', that same year. Starting in 2001, Uhm began to change direction and put focus on her acting career. Her phenomenal performance in the 2002 erotic comedy 'Marriage Is a Crazy Thing' won the singer-actress "Best Actress" at the 39th Baeksang Arts Awards

Song Ji-hyo 

Song Ji-hyo's story about becoming an actor started at a very young age, ever since she understood the magic of cinema, she dreamed of becoming an actress. Born in Pohang, North Gyeongsang, Song Ji-hyo's mother was a professional swimmer. The actor that inspired Song Ji-hyo to get into acting was Park Shin-yang in the 1998 South Korean film, 'Promise'. The actress was a cover model for Kiki Magazine before she made her childhood dream come true as she debuted in the feature film 'Wishing Stairs'.
