NCIS: Sahar, Ziva David's nemesis, might have been Ari's victim

After a few more details were revealed about Sahar, the mysterious antagonist that Ziva David wants to kill, there is a possibility that Sahar might be hunting down Ziva because she has a vendetta against Ari's family.

There has been a lot of speculation about Sahar's (Mouzam Makkar) identity, especially after she was revealed to be one of the key antagonists this season. The show's creators have teased that Sahar is linked to Ziva's (Cote de Pablo) past through Ari Haswari (Rudolf Martin), Ziva's half-brother. Well, now we have a few more cryptic details about this assassin who has gone after Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon) in an attempt to flush Ziva out of hiding. 

Thanks to some nifty detective work by Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham), we now know that her name or at least one of her names is "Mira Sahar Azam." We also know that she was a prisoner of war in Syria, who escaped a month prior to the farmhouse explosion that targetted Ziva. Otherwise, she is "a ghost." When Ziva and Gibbs interrogate "Mr Rogers", who has worked with Sahar in the past, he gives them some key bits of information. He refers to Ari as Ziva's "albatross", telling her that he could tell "a real tearjerker about Ari Haswari". He makes it clear that the reason Sahar is after Ziva is because of Ari.

Till now, all speculation around Sahar has revolved around her being Ari's close relative - either his daughter or his maternal half-sister. But there is another possibility -- of her and Ari being enemies. Since Ari was a double agent, Sahar might have been someone he loved and then had to betray to prove that he was still loyal to Mossad. This betrayal might have ultimately lead to her capture and her years as a prisoner of war.

Since Sahar was a prisoner, she wouldn't know that Ziva was the one who killed Ari. After finding out that Ari is dead, she might have decided to pursue her vendetta on the remaining members of Ari's family connected to Mossad. As of now, that is, unfortunately, Ziva and the members of the faux NCIS family, especially Leroy Gibbs who she regards as a father figure. Hopefully, the next episode of NCIS will reveal more about Sahar and why she is pursuing Ziva.
