'NCIS: LA' Season 12 Episode 4: Callen and Anna reunion is happening, but will the relationship last this time?

The couple of exes sure made sparks fly the last time Anna was on the show in Season 11 when she arrived to warn Callen of the threats he was facing.

After a hiatus of two weeks, 'NCIS: LA' is finally returning with not just one brand new episode, but two of them. On one hand, we have tension building up in the fifth episode of Season 12, that directed by Daniela Ruah, will see her own character Kensi fronted by a ghost from her past -- an obsessed sociopath stalker who wants to hunt her down, have sex with her and kill her, but not necessarily in that order. Romantic, right? But speaking of romance, another one unfolds in the first of tonight's double episodes, aka Episode 4, where Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and his on-again off-again beau Anna (Bar Paly) are finally reunited. The burning question of the hour is will the relationship last beyond just a passing cameo from the woman this time?

Ahead of this season's premiere, writer and showrunner Scott Gemmill has shared in an interview that Callen will find himself in a situation "where he wants to make a commitment he never thought he would". So soon as the prospect of Anna comes up one can't help but wonder whether wedding bells are on the horizon?

The too-suave-for-his-own-good Callen reaches a vantage point in his thing with the sizzling Anna. The couple of exes sure made sparks fly the last time Anna was on the show in Season 11 when she arrived to warn Callen of the threats he was facing. But the one noticeable aspect of seeing the two onscreen was how their chemistry was still off the charts. Probably why Gemmill teased whatever he did about the tumultuous romance the two have shared so far.

Also with Callen's best friend and teammate Sam considering taking his fairly new relationship with Katherine to a whole other level of trust, maybe he too finds inspiration in popping the question to Anna? There is no denying the two are practically made for each other. The official synopsis for the episode titled 'Cash Flow' doesn't really tease much except "The body of a murdered Navy reservist is found by thieves in the midst of a robbery, and NCIS must work with the burglars to find the killer; Kensi and Deeks struggle to decide if they are ready to make the leap and buy a house". But there's a picture CBS has released of Callen and Anna kissing passionately that would tease the exact kin of sparks flying that one would hope for them!

'NCIS: LA' Season 12 airs on Sundays at 8 pm only on CBS.
