Did Joe deserve to win 'Weakest Link' Season 1 finale? Fans unhappy with Glen's $80,500 victory
After watching the Season 1 finale episode of NBC's trivia game show – 'Weakest Link' fans were left feeling a bit disappointed with how things unfolded in the episode. Eight contestants walked onto the show, all set to try their best at winning the possible $1 million prize money that awaited the winner. The eight contestants who are complete strangers must play as a team in order to bank the maximum amount of money possible.
During the first round, out of a possible $25,000 that could be won, the eight contestants managed to bank only a measly $2,000, which resulted in the hostess of the show – Jane Lynch roasting all of them for not getting the answers right, and failing to bank the money at the right time. Although the contestants started off on a low note, they quickly picked up the pace and managed to get $80,500 in their kitty by the end of the game. At the end of each round, a contestant kept getting voted off, who the remaining contestants felt was the weakest link and was affecting their chances of banking more money.
Finally, there were three contestants left on the show – Joe, Glenn, and Kaye. Joe managed to consistently perform well on the show, from getting answers to most of his questions right to banking the maximum amount for the team, he was one of the strongest contenders. So, when it was time to vote off a contestant for one last time before the final round, both Glenn and Kaye decided to vote out Joe. They considered Joe to be a threat in the final round, so they decided to eliminate him, to increase their chances of winning the prize.
