Excitement is brewing as 'My Lady Jane' gears up to debut on Prime Video this summer. Based on a popular series of novels by Cynthia Hand, Brodie Ashton, and Jodi Meadows, this series offers a fresh take on the historical tale of Lady Jane Grey, who briefly ruled as Queen of England in 1553.

In real history, Jane met a tragic end, losing her crown and her life to Queen Mary I. But in this eight-part series, we're in for a whimsical ride with a young Tudor queen on a mission to rescue a magical people from her political foes.

Heading the production are Gemma Burgess, known for the Brooklyn Girls novels, and Meredith Glynn, acclaimed for her work on 'The Boys'.

Jamie Babbit directs the pilot, whose credits include 'Only Murders in the Building'. Drawing inspiration from the likes of 'Bridgerton' and the classic 'The Princess Bride', this promises to be a delightful blend of romance, fantasy, and comedy.

When Jane's mother arranges her marriage to the highest bidder, Jane is shocked to find her groom, Guildford Dudley, is not the dreadful match she expected, but rather a charming stranger hiding a dangerous secret.

Their union puts them both at risk, especially amidst larger plots, like a scheme to assassinate her cousin, King Edward, and plunge the kingdom into turmoil.

In 'My Lady Jane', expect a witty and heartfelt tale brimming with love, adventure, and magic. It proves that love conquers all, appearances can be deceiving, and even those destined for tragedy can rewrite their own fate.

The official synopsis reads, "In 1553, Lady Jane Grey was crowned Queen of England. Nine days later, she lost the throne—and shortly thereafter, her head. But what if history were different?"
