Spoilers for 'My Brilliant Friend' Season 2 Episode 6 'Rage'

Antonio Cappuccio (Christian Giroso) is ridiculed by Pasquale Peluso (Eduardo Scarpetta) for not having any principles.

When Antonio tells him and Enzo Scanno (Giovanni Buselli) that he is working for Michele Solara (Alessio Gallo) to find Lila Cerullo (Gaia Girace) — "at his disposal" — Pasquale refuses to help him. Enzo, on the other hand, agrees but solely for his love for Lila.

Antonio is just back from serving a short stint in the army. He was asked to leave after he started having episodes and harmed himself in the process. Upon his return, he sees no scope of getting better, which ruins his prospects of finding any work.

At the Solaras' bar one afternoon, Antonio overhears an angry Michele cursing into the telephone about Lila's sudden disappearance.

Desperate for money, Antonio seeks for employment from Michele, who, at first shoos him away, but then hires him to find Lila. Michele knows that Lila is not in Pisa with Elena Greco (Margherita Mazzucco) but somewhere with Nino Sarratore (Francesco Serpico).

Antonio is supposed to bring all updates back to Michele and no one else - not even Lila's husband Stefano Carracci(Giovanni Amura). When he does locate Nino, he beats him to a pulp — not only for Lila but also for Lenu.

The sudden shift in loyalties has earned Antonio the top spot on fans' hated list. "#MyBrilliantFriend trashiest men ranking (season two, episode six): 1. Antonio 2. Stefano 3. Nino 4. Michele 5. Donato 6. Rino 7. Marcello 8. Bruno 9. Alfonso 10. Lila's dad 11. Lenù’s dad 12. Pasquale 13. Enzo," tweeted a fan.

"Antonio sold his soul," rued a fan. "Antionio FTW!!" added another.

At the same time, he is getting some praise for beating up Nino. "Antonio beating the shit out of Nino is exactly what I needed this week," tweeted a fan. "Wow! Antonio turned into a gangster, what a great episode," said another.

"What's poppin other than Antonio going ham on Nino's face! That was messed up because that beating wasn’t just for Lila it was for him stealing Lenu too! I see you Antonio! I [see] You," tweeted a viewer.

There are still those who feel sorry for him. "Antonio is so young to be so broken." 'My Brilliant Friend' airs on Mondays on HBO at 10/9c.
