Lisa Fleming came to the show weighing over 700lbs and with the hopes of changing her life. However, her eating habits and her uncontrollable behavior had Dr Younan Nowzaradan convinced that she was not fit for the program.

Lisa had been living with her two daughters and six grandchildren who all helped to carry on her day-to-day activities. She confessed she wasn't happy about how her life was going because all the burden was on her daughters and her oldest grandchild. Lisa felt accountable and guilty for not allowing him to have a normal childhood.

Despite this, she could not control her eating habits as she felt eating was the reason she lived for. Her daughter used to wash her every day but it was painful for Lisa as she could feel her skin peeling. After struggling with her weight for a long time, Lisa finally decided to take control. Her daughters suggested she should seek help from Dr Nowzaradan and finally make some changes in her life.

Lisa agreed to set up a video call with Dr Nowzaradan before moving to Houston for the program. Dr Nowzaradan advised her to come down so they have a better plan about how her weight loss. Lisa agreed but she knew that a drive till Houston was going to affect her health. She needed the help of paramedics to get her out of the bed and with nearly seven of them coming to lift her, she was finally able to make it to the ambulance.

Once Lisa reached Houston, she finally met Dr Nowzaradan who informed her how important it was for her to lose weight. She was hospitalized to make sure they control her food intake. She was able to shed some weight but it was time for her to move out and start taking matters in her own hand.

Lisa found a place to stay in Houston for a while and was accompanied by her daughter. Unfortunately, her daughter had to go back for work, and Lisa's boyfriend, Herburt came to take care of her. Unlike Lisa's daughter, Herburt would not be too strict with Lisa due to which she put on more weight.

Dr Nowzaradan was not happy seeing Lisa's progress. She would often make up excuses and claimed that she had suicidal thoughts. Dr Nowzaradan tried to help her by giving her a counseling session but it did not help Lisa to feel motivated. Finally, Dr Nowzaradan gives up on Lisa and decides it would be best if she does not continue the program.

Lisa felt the same and states she is ready to quit it and go back to her normal life. Unfortunately, Lisa never felt motivated to lose weight. In August 2018, Lisa Fleming passed away at the age of 50. Her daughter Danielle M Fleming confirmed the news, adding that Lisa had suffered a heart attack.

'My 600-lb Life' airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
