LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lifetime has added one more murder mystery movie to its list as 'Murder at Blackthorne Manor' comes with blazing guns to deliver a plot that revolves around a classic whodunnit. The story is about a typical wealthy man who turns his big mansion into a murder mystery game hotspot. The idea of it comes from the lead Hayley, who is his boss' favorite and a promising employee. Hayley is determined and really loves her job.

But one fine day, in the middle of a murder mystery game, the owner of the mansion, Charles Benedict gets murdered. When Hayley and her associates come to know, they do everything in their power to not let guests know about this mishap. So, as their way of hiding it, they make the guests believe that it is all part of the game. The storyline is taken from a murder mystery book and has been given its own dark twist.

The mystery wasn't so clever

The production tried hard to portray a really intense mystery, but in the middle of many "been there done that" ideas, the plot failed to deliver a mystery that would have given a big high-five to 'Knives Out'. The play between switching from one character to another, and not being able to put your finger on the murderer is the real murder mystery. In the last 20 minutes of the movie, the characters were all a mess. The plot had lost its charm and the ending was quite comprehensible. When Hayley gets tied up by the real murderers, she realizes that it's important to not trust everyone. A hole is being made for her to be dropped alive. While all that is happening, a character comes into the frame, one that had first appeared in the start and the audience didn't know about his whereabouts till the end scene. That character is Roy, played by Trevor Lyons, who does a convincing job of doing his part and providing justice to the character.

The mystery was right there all along

By the end of the movie, the audience understands that money was the true motive for Charles' murder and his own stepson was the one involved in it with the silent partner of the business. The end seemed rushed and the plot seemed trying to be quick to get to the conclusion. By the end, we see Hayley in the house greeting new guests for a new thrilling murder mystery ride. The only theory that comes up is that, the house was named after Hayley as Charles thought that she was worthy of it, after knowing this Charles' stepson Jackson might have killed his step-father in a fit of rage. And the end scene concludes that Hayley finally got the house and still continues to host murder mystery parties.
