Amazon’s upcoming fantasy series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is undoubtedly one of the highly-anticipated titles this year and continues to create a lot of buzz ahead of its premiere. Since the show was announced, a lot of fans have been closely keeping track of the series and trying to decipher the changes between the Amazon series and Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. Of course, the timeline of both titles is quite different and the show is set thousands of years before the events that took place in ‘LOTR’, but there are other significant changes as well.

Ema Horvath, the actress who plays Elendi’s daughter Earien in the series, has come forward in order to explain how the Amazon series is different from Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning trilogy. For the uninitiated, the trilogy created by Peter Jackson focused on the third age of the Middle-Earth saga. Meanwhile, the show will be primarily focused on the second age, which was way more peaceful than the third age. The reason for it being so peaceful is because the rise of Lord Sauron didn’t take place in the second age.

So, there are a lot of things that might be different in the series and one of those things is how “colorful” the Middle-Earth would look in the series because the darkness hasn’t taken over that part of that world. Talking about the same with Screen Rant, Horvath noted that fans will see a different side of Middle-Earth in the series, a series that is much more “opulent” and “colorful” than the ‘LOTR’ trilogy.

“Just how opulent it is. You watch the movies, and everything is kind of apocalyptic almost. Especially for my character, who is on Númenor. It's the most glorious, beautiful, vibrant, colorful thing in comparison to what we've seen before,” Hovarth said during the interview.

The trailers seem to suggest the same and feature a lot of shots that feel how peaceful things are in the Middle-Earth. Of course, the second age features war, and there will be a lot of references to that in the series. But, the Third Age was all about war and featured the entire Middle-Earth getting together to fight the evil forces of Sauron.

Although these events take place over thousands of years in Tolkien's original stories but are condensed for the series. The new setting is pretty exciting and will give viewers a chance to get to know more about new characters and new storylines. The series features Morfydd Clark as Galadriel and Maxim Baldry as Isildur. Other actors to feature on the show include Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Miriel), Robert Aramayo (Elrond), Nazanin Boniadi (Bronwyn), Ismael Cruz Cordova (Arondir), Charles Edwards (Celebrimbor), Markella Kavenagh (Elanor) and more.
