Monsta X conservative member no more? Hyungwon 'chose violence' with shirtless photoshoot
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: With K-pop idols taking over the fashion world lately, it was no surprise that Monsta X's Hyungwon would be sporting luxury brands like Gucci, Prada and Moschino for his latest photoshoot with Dazed Korea magazine's October issue. But it was him going shirtless and showing off his abs that has fans going into a meltdown. Especially, since he was one of the conservative members of Monsta X.
While Monsta X is known as the 'beasts' or the 'monsters' of K-pop, it is usually for their fierce concepts and music. Visually, we only had leader Shownu and former member Wonho all bulked up and flaunting their chiselled bodies. There have been several inside jokes from Jooheon drawing abs on paper instead of lifting his shirt, Hyungwon and I.M giving up after a minute in the gym and Kihyun and Hyungwon calling themselves the 'bosu brothers' as they were conservative and would never go shirtless. But that has all changed.

Monsta X's Hyungwon goes shirtless for photoshoot
Monbebes (Monsta X's fandom) cannot keep up as late, almost all of the members are suddenly hitting the gym. Jooheon had become the last member to debut his abs at their Seoul concert in the first week of September. And now, for his latest magazine photoshoot, it looks like Monsta X's Hyungwon woke up and chose violence. While Hyungwon has gone shirtless in the past when he was thin and lanky, ever since his glow-up, he has only ever worn crop tops or mesh shirts. Well, he decided to abandon those for a patterned jacket from Moschino and nothing underneath for his Dazed photoshoot which showed off his muscles.
'Officially my favorite Hyungwon genre'
One Monbebe posted, "Hyungwon, the manhwa guy of monsta x." Another fan said, "BRO WHAT THE F**KKLK I JUST WOKE UP." With Minhyuk the only member left to join the gym, another added, "His glow up is so real minhyuk come through." One fan wrote, "Chaest hyungwon is officially my favorite hyungwon genre now." Another shared, "Dazed choosing violence to hyungwon and changkyun stans."
One fan asked, "WAS THIS THE GOOD THING HYUNGWON WAS TALKING ABOUT THAT WAS DROPPING TODAY." Another made a reaction meme, "Chae hyungwon: there will be one more good news dropping tomorrow me:." With Hyungwon hinting at the shirtless photoshoot, one shared, "Me to hyungwon tonight." While Hyungwon and Kihyun were the 'bosu brothers' for being conservative, another Monbebe joked, "Kihyun and Hyungwon now that bosu brothers have disbanded." One fan tweeted, "CHAE HYUNGWON CHOSE VIOLENCE TODAYYYY!!?"
