Is Shownu dating pilates instructor? Monsta X fans say 'Alexa play Jealousy'
With Shownu being the first Monsta X member to enlist for his mandatory military service, fans have been missing him immensely. However, Monbebes (Monsta X’s fandom) were relieved that the group leader would be doing alternate service as a social worker due to a past injury. Having enlisted in July 2021, Shownu is set to return tentatively on April 21, 2023. But since he is a social worker, he has more freedom as he can live at home and can interact as a normal civilian. This is why fans are happy that they often get a sighting of him at a cafe or on the streets. But his latest sighting has led to a dating rumor.
On July 16, EZ, a pilates instructor posted a photo of her with Shownu at her gym. A Monbebe commented on the Instagram post that it was cool that she was a celebrity teacher assuming that she was coaching Shownu. EZ responded, “[Shownu] didn’t come here to do pilates!” While fans were previously envious of the instructor meeting Shownu, the response changed as they wondered if she was dating the Monsta X leader. This led to fans creating several hilarious memes as they asked Shownu to focus on his military service.

The pilates instructor clarifies meeting with Shownu
However, with dating being taboo in K-pop and idols having several toxic fans, there were some who started making weird comments. The instructor had to then immediately clarify the meeting with the Monsta X star. EZ shared, “Suddenly I got a lot of followers, so I’m posting...that I’m a little surprised and embarrassed. I’m a pilates instructor helping Shownu’s mom work out. Yesterday, Shownu came to pick her up from the center and so I took a picture with him. It’s the first time I’ve seen a celebrity up close and so I wanted to show off…Fans, I apologize for the inconvenience :(..” She has since deleted her photo with Shownu.

Monbebes were upset that some fans had made the pilates instructor uncomfortable to the point that she had to clear misunderstandings. But before toxic fans ruined the interaction, Monbebes were having the time of their life creating hilarious memes. One fan tweeted, “Alexa play jealousy by monsta x.” With Shownu being a daycare employee for his social work, another joked, “Shownu i thought we were teaching the children.”
One Monbebe added, “I'm in literal tears finally a shownu sighting.” Another said, “Crying because all the "one day shownu is just gonna show up with a wife of four years" jokes were fr fr.” One wrote, “Shownu nation when shownu actually shows up with a gf after saying he’s a married man with 5 kids for the millionth hundredth thousandth time.” Another fan asked, “Is the girl really small or shownu is THAT BIG?!” One Monbebe made a reaction meme, “Me at the pilates centre trying to get shownu’s attention.”

Following the clarification, Monbebes slammed the toxic fans, “Ur weird if you actually get mad at shownu having interactions with WOMEN 😭 like let that man live.” Another was surprised, “I thought we're all just joking and enjoying that shownu update. why are some already assuming things?” One fan added, “I hate she felt the need to apologize for posting a picture in gym like most trainers do to ease others, she did nothing wrong…fans took it there. if any of us met the SHOWNU, singer, choreographer, actor w/ a bachelors & masters on the way we’d show off too, let’s act regular.” Another said, “See why you should all think before jumping to conclusions and making jokes at the expense of his private life she’s his mum’s pilates instructor shownu wasn’t there for pilates because he was picking up his mum.”
