Volume One of ‘Money Heist’ Season 5 has taken everybody by storm and had everything that fans wanted to see from the Spanish phenomenon. The show has been one of the most-watched non-English shows in Netflix’s history and has made its way into the list of shows that influenced pop culture as well.

The latest edition of the show ended with the tragic death of Tokyo (Ursula Corbero). An epic gunfight sequence took place in the finals moments of the show and saw Tokyo sacrificing herself for the team. The death will change all the dynamics of the show because none of the team members thought Tokyo would be the latest casualty. The Professor (Alvaro Morte) is completely blindsided and shocked to learn what just happened. It’ll be interesting to see how Professor will execute the plans after Tokyo’s death.

Release date and how to watch

‘Money Heist’ Season 2 Vol. 2 will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on December 3, 2021, at 3 am EST. Netflix acquired the right of the show in 2019 and turned the show into a worldwide phenomenon. Viewers can download Netflix from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. All five seasons of ‘Money Heist’ are currently streaming on the platform.

Plot

The official plotline of Part 2 has not been released as of now. But, the death of Tokyo might change a lot of things in their plans to complete the heist. A team of army personnel is on their back as well while a whole battalion is ready to barge in the Bank of Spain in case things go wild. On the other hand, Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) might threaten The Professor to leak the audio which proves that she is not a traitor.

Most importantly, the team will be hoping to complete the heist to honor the death of Tokyo. We could have just written ‘FOR TOKYO’ here and people would have understood the plotline. But, still, there are a lot of other things happening as well.

Spoilers

In the final moments of Volume One, we see Alicia giving birth to her child with the help of Professor. Meanwhile, the team is fighting the hostages, all thanks to the ever-so-annoying Arturo (Enrique Arce). Arturo is shot by Stockholm (Esther Acebo) and taken out of the bank immediately.

Elsewhere, a team of army personnel has entered the bank and the team is taking them head-on. The team comes face to face with them and when we thought, the team will outclass them, the army personnel gets on top by throwing a grenade. Some of the members of the team get stuck inside a room of the museum while Denver (Jaime Lorente), Tokyo, and Manila get stuck in the kitchen.

The army personnel try to enter the kitchen through some other ways and put explosives into the wall that would lead them to the place where they are hiding. Also, a team of snipers is also waiting to fire from the next building. Tokyo gets shot by the snipers, but not fatally. They are stuck in the kitchen, but Stockholm tells them that there is an escape route from the kitchen.

Denver and Manila escape the place while Tokyo decides to stay back. Everyone is calling her to escape, but Tokyo doesn’t listen. After an epic gunfight battle, Tokyo gets hit by multiple bullets and is down. Gandia comes in and wants to shoot her in the head, but Tokyo has taken out all the pins of the grenades she had.

Part One ends with the death of Tokyo and Gandia.
