'Mirzapur' Season 2: Meet Ali Fazal, Rasika Dugal and the rest of the cast of Amazon Prime's crime thriller

Here is the cast of the Indian crime thriller series that brings the world of drugs, mafia and corruption to life

'Mirzapur' is an Indian crime thriller that made its debut in 2018 on Amazon Prime, taking everybody for a ride and garnering a huge fan base. It's second season is set to debut later this month, and here is the cast bringing the world of drugs, mafia and corruption to life.

Pankaj Tripathi as Akhanda Tripathi

Tripathi is known for his works such as 'Stree' (2018), 'Gangs of Wasseypur' (2012), 'Newton' (2017) and 'Dilwale' (2015). The actor won two awards in 2017 - a Jury Prize at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival for Best Supporting Actor for 'Mango Dreams' (2016) where he played the role of – and a Festival Award at the 2017 Cape Town & Winelands International Film Festival, South Africa for Best Actor for the same production. He currently has four releases in post-production titled ''83' (2020), 'Ludo' (2020), 'Kaagaz' and 'Abhi toh party shuru hui hai'.

Fazal is known for his works such as 'Victoria & Abdul' (2017), 'Milan Talkies' (2019) and as Safar in 'Fast & Furious 7'. His other works include 'Sonali Cable' (2014), 'For Here or to Go?' (2015), 'Xuan Zang' (2016), 'Listen to Her' (2020) and 'Forbidden Love' (2020). The actor won a Variety 10 Actors to Watch at the 2017 Hamptons International Film Festival and in 2018 won Vogue Beauty Award for Most Beautiful Couple of the Year which he shared with Richa Chadha.

Divyendu Sharma as  Munna Tripathi

Sharma is known for his roles as Nishant Agarwal in 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' (2011), Omi in 'Chashme Baddoor' (2013), and Naru in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' (2017). His recent works include 'Fatafat' (2019), 'Kanpuriye' (2019), 'Odd Couple' (2019), and 'Shukranu' (2020). He has two completed releases titled 'Mere Dosh Ki Dharti' (2020) and 'Bicchoo Ka Khel' (2020). He has one release in post-production titled 'Salt City (India)' and one in pre-production called 'India Dial 100'. He has won a Screen Award in 2012 for Most Promising Debut Actor for 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' and was nominated for a Popular Award at the 2012 Awards of the International Indian Film Academy for Best Comic Actor for the same production. 

Anjum Sharma as Sharad

Sharma is known for his roles as Operator in 'Slumdog Millionaire' (2008), Sartak in 'Wazir' (2016), and Khichdi 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai' (2010). His other roles include 'Daanav Hunters' (2014), 'Baaki Itihaa' (2017), 'Made in Heaven' (2019) and 'The Will' (2019).

Tripathi is known for her roles as Shaalu Gupta in 'Masaan' (2015), Sandhya in 'Haraamkhor' (2015), Dr. Shreya Pathare in 'Laakhon Mein Ek' (2019) and Karuna Sing in 'Raat Akeli Hai' (2020). Her recent works include 'Made in Heaven' (2019), 'Gone Kesh' (2019), 'TVF Tripling' (2019), 'Mehandi Circus' (2019) and 'The Gone Game' (2020). In 2015 she won a Grand Jury Prize at the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival for Best Actress for 'Haraamkhor' and in 2016 she won a Popular Award at the Zee Cine Awards for 'Masaan'.

Dugal is known for her roles as Neeli in 'Qissa: The Tale of a Lonely Ghost' (2013), Rasika in 'Chutney' (2016), Chhaya in 'Corrode' (2011) and Ammi in 'The School Bag' (2017). Her recent roles include 'Hamidabai Ki Kothi' (2019), 'Out of Love' (2019), 'Banana Bread' (2020), 'Lootcase' (2020), 'A Suitable Boy' (2020) and 'Uncovidable - Hindi' (2020). She has two completed releases titled 'Lollypop Since 1947' and 'Black Currency: The Fake Currency Truth Unfolds' as well. Last year, the actress was nominated for a Screen Award for 'Manto' where she played the role of Safia and an Indian Television Academy Award for Best Actress - Web Series for 'Mirzapur'.  



 

The rest of the cast includes Harshita Shekhar Gaur as Dimpy, Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Bauji, Anjum Sharma as Sharad, Rajesh Tailang as Ramakant Pandit, Sheeba Chadha as Vasudha Pandit, Amit Sial as Maurya, Vijay Varma as Bharat, Isha Talwar as Madhuri, Priyanshu Painyuli as Robin and many more.

The Season 2 synopsis as revealed by Amazon Prime reads: "They say that revenge is a dish best served cold. Mirzapur is a dream, and it shall come true. The wait is finally over!
