'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles': Josh Altman lists luxurious, 15,473 sqft Laurel Way mansion for $44M
This week's episode of 'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles' saw Josh Altman and his team hold a glamorous event at a listing that he had his eyes on for the past five years. The party was massive and they hosted a total of 300 influencers as well as a number of people with deep pockets to come and have a feel of the house. The aim of this event was to get feedback from people who have the money regarding the pricing that Altman and the developer of the property had in mind. Through this soft launch, Altman wanted to understand if this listing would attract buyers at the price they had in mind or if they were up for disappointment.
The property in question was developed by Ilan Sharone, one of the biggest players in the real estate market in Lost Angeles, as described by Altman. Apart from being the biggest developer, he also was one of Altman's best friends. Altman was there when the house was still being built in 2016 and since then he was aiming to acquire the listing of the house once it's ready to go on the market. This was a 15,473 square feet modern mansion in Beverly Hills located minutes away from Rodeo Drive. The Laurel Way house had seven bedrooms and 15 bathrooms (as well as 22 toilets and multiple urinals), a sauna, showerheads that allow a person to regulate the water flow, hot tubs, 1200 sq ft rooftop terrace, an infinity pool on the rooftop and one on the ground level. The main kitchen came with double islands, a walk-in pantry, with a separate space for prepping. There was also an outdoor kitchen equipped with four refrigerators, a wood-burning pizza oven, room for six kegs, and a grill. The house also featured a wine cellar and a tasting room. There was also a garage with turntables for cars and bikes.
Ilan wanted to list the property at $55 million. However, Altman, speaking with knowledge and experience, told him that the property should be listed for $48 million and Ilan trusted him enough and went with it at that point. To further determine if the price point is good enough or it would leave the house sitting on the market for a long time, Altman pitched the idea of a party to Ilan. He wanted to bring billionaires to the property and ask them if they felt that it was worth spending $48 million for. This was a part of the marketing strategy and just like the house, the event too was an extravagant affair and a lot of the attendees felt that the price point was justified, providing a headway for Altman and the team to proceed with deciding the listing price. As of today, the house is still available and is listed for $44,500,000.
