The Internet was abuzz with Beyonce’s brand new single ‘Break My Soul’ when she released it a few hours early on Monday, June 20. “Queen Bey is back” is what the majority of social media users wrote as they bumped her fresh release off her upcoming seventh album ‘Renaissance’. However, it looks like Michelle Obama too got hyped with Beyonce’s new banger as the former took to Twitter to praise the crooner.

The former First Lady easily managed to break the Internet after she got some wise words to share for Beyonce. The 58-year-old revealed that she could not help but dance and sing along to Beyonce’s latest chartbuster. For the unversed, Beyonce is a long-time pal of the Obamas. The Grammy-winning crooner had performed at former President Barack Obama's first inaugural ball, and at his second inauguration ceremony.

‘You’ve done it again’

Sharing the tweet with her close to 22 million followers on Tuesday, June 21, Michelle Obama posted, “Queen @Beyonce, you’ve done it again! “Break My Soul” is the song we all need right now, and I can't help but dance and sing along while listening to it.” She added, “Can’t wait for the album!” while adding an emoticon of a Black girl dancing.

This is not the first time when Michelle Obama praised the renowned singer-songwriter. In 2019, Michelle shared a video where she applauded Beyonce’s Netflix documentary ‘Homecoming’ way back in 2019. In the clip, Michelle said, “Hey queen! Girl, you have done it again, constantly raising the bar for us all and doing it flawlessly. I’d say I’m surprised, but I know who you are. I’ve seen it up close and personal.”

Beyonce’s new album will be her first in six years

Beyonce’s seventh album ‘Renaissance’ is up for a July 29 release. This will be her first solo album in six years. She had last dropped her album in the year 2016 called ‘Lemonade’. The tracklist and potential features of her latest are yet to be revealed by the singer. Speaking of her newly-released song, the 40-year-old dance-house track samples 1990 hit, ‘Show Me Love’, and features additional vocals and another sample from bounce legend Big Freedia.

Beyonce in the first verse of ‘Break My Soul’, sings, “Now, I just fell in love, and I just quit my job/I'm gonna find new drive, damn, they work me so damn hard/Work by nine, then off past five/And they work my nerves, that's why I cannot sleep at night.” Whereas, her second verse too quickly got viral as she crooned, “I'ma let down my hair 'cause I lost my mind/Bey is back and I'm sleeping real good at night/The queen's in the front and the Dom's in the back/Ain't taking no flicks but the whole clique snapped.” Stream the full song here.
