'Sister Wives' star Meri Brown reveals she's estranged from Kody: 'I know my worth'
The explosive interview with Sukanya Krishnan seems to have opened a can of worms for the Brown family. After shocking everybody by revealing that she hasn't had sex with her polygamist husband Kody Brown in over a decade, Meri Brown seems to be in a mood to let out more secrets from her marriage.
The 'Sister Wives' star took to her Instagram on Friday (February 4, 2022) to admit that her relationship with husband Kody was 'estranged'. In a lengthy Instagram post, the reality star shared that she wasn't "oblivious" to what was going on in her marriage while recounting how using the term "estranged" to describe her relationship with Kody felt "somewhat freeing". Meri, who is Kody's first wife, posted, "A few months ago, I used the word 'estranged' regarding my relationship, in a conversation with a friend. It was the first time I had vocalized it, and it felt.... honest. It was hard to use, and yet somewhat freeing. I know where my relationship is, I'm not oblivious to that."

"I will always look for the best in people and situations, and hope they see it too. I want to protect people, their emotions, the tough situations. I have never been, nor will I ever be, the person who will sit and publicly trash someone or something. So if you start reading this and think that's what you're going to get here, you'll be disappointed," she continued.
"I try not to put labels on things but over the past few months as that 'certain TV show' has been airing, I've been labeled. I've been called by viewers, desperate, pathetic, embarrassing, told I have no worth and no value, and a plethora of other things that I won't even mention here. In actuality, what you've seen is me no longer being silent. What you've seen is me using my voice to have fun and bring humor to a not so perfect situation.," she added.
"The truth is, I KNOW my value. I KNOW my worth. Who I AM, what I want in life, what I aspire to be, and what I feel like I'm doing a pretty dang good job at, is being happy. I don't let things around me that aren't 'perfect' get me down, because my inner peace and joy is more important to me than that. I surround myself with people who match or exceed my energy. I have friends, co-workers, colleagues, mentors, who fill my cup, and I hope in some way I'm filling theirs. I engage in positive conversations and situations. I dream with the LID OFF! I have plans and goals and aspirations that make me happy and fulfilled. I work toward those dreams daily. I overcome, I succeed, I win. And, I'm happy with myself," she concluded.
The 50-year-old star was met with a lot of love and support from her followers after she opened up about her current situation with Kody. A follower of hers commented, "And this is why you’re my favourite! ❤️ Strong and determined and figuring out exactly what you want and how you want your life to be! You don’t let anyone dictate how you choose to live and it’s truly inspiring to women 🙌." Another fan of Meri wrote, "You are amazing and I'm glad you know your worth. The way Kody talks about you and to you is horrific. You can leave him and still be there for your family and be a good sister wife and additional mom to these kiddos you love so much. You deserve to be talked to and treated like the QUEEN you are 👑."

Meri and Kody divorced in 2014 so that he could legally marry his fourth wife Robyn Brown and adopt her three children from a previous relationship. Kody is also "spiritually married" to his second and third wives- Janelle and Christine Brown. Though Christine announced her split from Kody in November 2021, Kody is yet to "spiritually divorce" her.
