NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: American journalist Megyn Kelly said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could “go back home” if they did not like the recent “near catastrophic” paparazzi car chase incident. “Duchess of duplicity Meghan Markle and Prince Harry say that they were in a ‘near catastrophic’ car chase involving paparazzi in New York City last night,” Kelly said during Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s ‘The Megyn Kelly Show.’ “‘Near catastrophic.’ What does that mean?” she asked.

“I mean, near catastrophic is what we all have every time we look down to change the radio while we’re driving in our cars or engage in the stupidity of checking a text or our phones while we're driving,” Kelly commented. “That's near catastrophic,” she stated. The car chase incident took place on Tuesday, May 16, while Prince Harry, Markle, and her mother Doria Ragland were traveling in an SUV after leaving the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards in New York City. “Everyone is still upset, to say the least. It was horrific,” a source told the New York Post after the chase.

'History repeating itself': Outrage as Prince Harry, Meghan Markle claims 'near-fatal' pap chase

BIG BOO BABY: Megyn Kelly says Meghan Markle is skipping King Charles’ coronation over boo fears

‘You’re in America now’

Kelly, known for criticism of Markle and Prince Harry, slammed the pair once again after their “near-fatal” paparazzi car chase incident. The former took to ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ to share her doubts and said, “I’ve got questions in particular because they have a history of lying as you know, and even of exaggerating their alleged car chases.”

“Well, sorry, you two, but you’re in America now,” she continued. “And in America, the press has the right to photograph you when you’re in a public place, or on the streets, or leaving a place like the Ziegfeld Theatre,” Kelly added. “I’ve been followed as well, but it’s part of life in this country where we still have freedom of the press,” the media personality shared. “You don’t like it? Go back home, for the love of God!” she stated.

“Take your wife with you. I don’t know how we got saddled with you to begin with,” Kelly commented. She also recalled being followed by paparazzi in Manhattan while visiting a plastic surgeon to remove a small, cancerous lesion from her skin. Kelly said a photographer was “taking photographs [of her] from under the umbrella” that she was carrying during the rainy day. “Did I run to the papers and say, ‘I’ve been in danger! I have cancer!’?” the journalist asked, before adding, “I could have pulled that.”

“Bulls**t! Most people who are in the public eye take it like a man or a woman and we move on with our day because we understand they have a job to do and dealing with the press is part of our job too,” Kelly said. She also compared Markle and Prince Harry’s traumatic experience to an anecdotal tale of restaurant patrons reacting to Kylie Jenner as if she was “the Queen of England.”

Kelly even took to Twitter to address the incident. “I lived in Manhattan for 17 yrs & it is not possible to have a 2hr “car chase” there. Too many street lights/stop signs, too much foot/car traffic & hundreds of places you could safely pull over to protect yourself,” she wrote. “Also if they really want to avoid the paparazzi perhaps the Duchess should stop using them so obviously when she wants to see herself in the paper. The relationship can get complicated,” the former Fox News star added.

‘Just as desperate for attention’

Some social media users were left disappointed with Kelly’s lack of sympathy towards Markle and Prince Harry’s situation and took to Facebook to call out her remarks. “They did not say that, their spokesman did as a result of a police report saying pedestrians on the sidewalk were jumping out of the way from paparazzi on scooters riding in and out and up on the sidewalks, chasing the couples vehicle. Totally out of control. So yes, it could have been catastrophic,” one user wrote.

“Sounds like Megyn Kelly is just as desperate for attention,” another added while one said, “Is Megyn Kelly still a thing? If so...why?” “I wish I could be there the moment she meets God and understands what an awful human she’s been her entire career,” another commented. One said, “You know who seems to ALWAYS be looking for attention? Megyn Kelly” while another added, “She's a National Enquirer beat reporter wannabe. A rich one I have to acknowledge.”

‘Can trace a fox in the run!’

While many slammed Kelly for her comments, some Facebook users sided with her opinion. “Megyn is one of a kind. She can trace a fox in the run! Keep up the good work,” one commented. “Oh Megyn. Exactly how I feel. So orchestrated!!! A car chase in Manhattan. Puhleeze! Laughable,” another added. “No way you can have a 2 hour car chase in NYC. There are too many cars,” a third user agreed.
