Meghan Trainor is giving fans a special glimpse of their Christmas present. On September 9, the contemporary R&B singer revealed that she has a new album planned for the holiday season. Since the announcement, Trainor's Christmas album has been getting mixed reactions on Twitter.

Many fans are excited for 'A Very Trainor Christmas'. "We gonna support," said a fan while another deemed Trainor an "Underrated queen." One fan wrote, "Christmas coming in early we stan." Another added, "WE LOVE MEGHAN TRAINOR , SHE DESERVES SO MUCH."

For others, the early arrival of the singer's Christmas music isn't quite so fitting. "It's barely october..." said one user. One fan shared, "Still waiting for the Halloween edition." Another added, "We didn't ask for this."

Meanwhile, fans of Mariah Carey, who has often been deemed as the go-to singer for Christmas albums, aren't welcoming the Trainor album. Adding a short clip of Mariah, one fan asked, "is that a threat?" referring to the release of her two songs.

Speaking about her new album, Trainor posted a short video on September 9 and captioned it, "NOTHING makes me happier than the holidays w my family!" In the 10-second clip, the singer can be seen in a Santa Claus cap and tinsel while biting into a candy cane. "This year has been difficult to say the least, so I’m tryna bring joy the best way I know how... with a Christmas album full of originals & classics!"

Trainor then teased the album over on Instagram with a longer video, which she shared on October 8. The video shows footage of the 'Lips Are Movin' singer enjoying earlier Christmas celebrations with her family, friends and pets. Check out the clip here.

According to Just Jared, Trainor's label said: "Meghan enlisted the help of her entire family as she handcrafted the album. Whether it was as songwriters, background vocalists, producers, or instrumentalists – every Trainor played a crucial role in bringing this album to life. Meghan also invited some surprise guests to be a part of this Christmas Party!"

'A Very Trainor' Christmas' is the second album by the singer to arrive in 2020 after January’s 'Treat Myself'.
