LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle is anticipated to get an honorary award at the 2022 GQ 'Men of the Year' event. With frequent attendees David and Victoria Beckham, as well as Madonna, Dua Lipa, and designer to the stars Donatella Versace, the magazine's luxurious celebration is one of the most exclusive events on the UK calendar.

Insiders said that the 41-year-old Meghan will be honoured for her charitable activities.Meghan has been offered one of the top awards of the evening so it’s a massive coup for her. She already has a close relationship with GQ due to her friendship with Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful which is also owned by Conde Nast," a source revealed.

“Edward is very much seen as a friend rather than a business acquaintance,” the source also added. The GQ Men of the Year Awards, which typically occur in September, were previously scheduled for September 7. The event, for which tickets cost £5,999, was, however, postponed early this summer without any more justification. According to insiders, the modification was made exclusively to suit Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should they want to attend.

The source continued,“Due to their mini tour of Europe Meghan wouldn’t have been able to attend if awards went ahead on their original date in September. Talks about the evening were already happening before The Queen’s passing so no doubt things will have to be re-evaluated to make sure it’s as respectful as possible.”

As extracts from a shocking new book suggest, Meghan thought she would be the "Beyoncé of the UK" when she married Prince Harry. However, she eventually discovered that she detested the rigid restrictions of royal life and sensationally resigned from her position.

According to insiders, the duchess thought she would marry the Queen's grandson and become "Britain's Beyoncé," but she became disenchanted with the rigid rules and procedure of life as a working member of the royal family and felt "cornered and misunderstood" by The Firm. At the crucial Sandringham conference, when the royals discussed Harry and Meghan's future, the Queen was allegedly compelled to put her foot down over Megxit and tell the Sussexes they were "either in or out."

A former palace insider said, "I think Meghan thought she was going to be the Beyoncé of the UK. Being part of the royal family would give her that kudos. Whereas what she discovered was that there were so many rules that were so ridiculous that she couldn't even do the things that she could do as a private individual, which is tough."

According to them, the Duchess would not be able to conform to the stereotype of a working royal since the palace would not accept "who she wanted to be." According to Mr. Low, the monarch herself believed that the pair would "not be able to carry out official tasks" unless they were prepared to abide by the regulations that apply to all working royals.
