Meghan Markle compared to Kardashians for taking inspiration from their wardrobe

The Duchess of Sussex is currently in New York for her first joint official engagement with Prince Harry after the birth of their daughter

Meghan Markle has been accused of stealing Kardashians style as she’s on a whirlwind mini-tour in New York with Prince Harry. The Sussexes are in the Big Apple for their first joint official engagement after the birth of their daughter. First, the mother-of-two was seen on Thursday, September 23, in a black dress with a tan all-black turtleneck dress, along with a tan-colored coat, which was quite similar to Kim Kardashian’s look from the Forbes Women's Summit in New York in June 2017.

On the same day, Meghan was then seen in an all-black outfit, with black trousers and a black turtleneck top as she arrived at the One World Trade Center Observatory. The second look also gave off Kim’s vibe as the socialite wore the same kind of ensemble back in 2017. Besides, when on Friday, the Duchess of Sussex donned a monochromatic maroon suit while visiting Harlem's PS 123 Mahalia Jackson school, she was not just compared to Kim’s older sister, 42-year-old Kourtney, she was also accused of channeling Michelle Obama.

The ‘Suits’ actress donned a luxurious red £4,275 Loro Piana cashmere coat and matching £1229 pants for the school visit that looked very similar to Kourtney’s burgundy outfit back in 2019. The look seemed inspired by Michelle also. The former first lady had worn a head-to-toe plum suit by Sergio Hudson for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ inauguration in January.

However, it’s not the first time Kim has been compared to Kardashians. Former ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Piers Morgan had once that Meghan’s the “new Kim Kardashian”. Also, recently, after Meghan and Harry’s Time magazine's cover was released, experts claimed that it reminded them of Kim and Kanye West's cover photos. Body language expert Darren Stanton said: “This is very reminiscent of some of the shots that we have seen from Hollywood power couples in the past and most similarly with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Overall I think this demonstrates that Prince Harry and Megan are looking to continue to build their brand especially in America as a power couple but it is also clear from the body language that Megan as I always maintained, holds the power in the relationship.”

Meanwhile, Fashion stylist Lucas Armitage told Fabulous that after stepping down from royal duties in March last year, Meghan has ditched “uncomfortable royal uniform” for her “easy breezy style LA vibe”. Lucas stated, “She never fully seemed comfortable with the modest dresses and structured hair that replaced her previous easy breezy style LA vibe. Sure, Meghan played by the rules and looked immaculately turned out, but her new royal style seemed such a departure from her old life I always wondered if she actually enjoyed wearing the clothes or if they were just her royal uniform.”
