MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle was channeling Julia Roberts in the latest video by Variety “to appear friendly, relatable and fun,” as per body language expert Judi James. However, social media had a different take on this, with many calling it “cringeworthy.”

In the video, Meghan can be seen modeling in different designer outfits during a photoshoot for Variety magazine while giving a glimpse of her life with Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet. Speaking about the death of her husband Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, Meghan said, “There’s been such an outpouring of love and support. I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time. What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts.”

Commenting on Meghan's body language in the video, Judi said, as quoted by Mirror, “Sweet, cute, coy, self-effacing, Meghan channels Julia Roberts with the giggling laugh that is part-concealed behind her hand like Robert’s classic look in 'Pretty Woman'. Her feminist/campaigning body language is gone and instead, we are shown Meghan the fashion model posing for photos; Meghan the lover of rom-coms; 'cheesy' Meghan who just enjoys 'looking at my kid' and the woman who shares so much of the pain in her life is smiling in a gesture of perfect happiness as she now says we should all 'enjoy what time we have.'” "The aim seems to be for her to appear friendly, relatable, and fun or even that girly girl," Judi described, according to DailyMail.

Following the video that went live on October 19, 2022, many bashed the Duchess of Sussex. One wrote, "This reminds me of the burger ad she did it's so bad and cheesy!" While another said, "Posing for mags in fantasy-type gowns is all that she ever aspired to be all along I think. This is what she worked so hard for but needed a prince to achieve it."

Many called her video "cringeworthy" as one tweeted, "@Variety congratulations on putting out the most Cringeworthy video. EVER." Another added, "Cringeworthy at best."

Another individual tweeted, "@Variety - really ? You used to be a respected voice. I think I just developed diabetes it was so syrupy. How many untruths can one article hold."
