Megan Thee Stallion took to social media on June 24 to tease the release of her latest track, 'Girls In The Hood'. The new song is slated for release on June 25 and is available for pre-save now. Megan wrote on Twitter, "Hotties y'all ready for this new HOT SH*T…pre save GIRLS IN THE HOOD right now !!!" Over on Instagram, the  'All Dat' rapper shared a pic of the single's cover art with the caption “6/26 y’all ready?” On the cover, Megan has donned a soft pink bandana bralette with matching pink shorts and a matching pink hood.

Fans on Twitter went ecstatic after her teaser. Several fans have already pre-saved 'Girls In The Hood' on their streaming platform accounts. "Already done!!! So excited for Friday," said a fan while another wrote, "Yes ma’am, come bless my ears!" One fan said, "You gonna serve."

Numerous fans commented on her look for the cover, saying, "YOU LOOK SO DAMN GOOD" and "YOURE GORGEOUS" and "YOURE THE PRETTIEST." One fan said they are "making this my new lock screen."

'Girls In The Hood' will be Megan’s sixth single released in 2020. It follows 'Diamonds' (with Normani), the lead single from the soundtrack to the film 'Birds of Prey'; 'FREAK' (feat Tyga), and both 'Captain Hook' and  'B.I.T.C.H.', which featured on her third EP 'Suga'. The EP released in March and garnered positive reception from fans and critics, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Earlier this year, Megan released three alternate versions of her hit single 'Savage'. Two were remixed by Major Lazer and another featured Beyoncé. In an interview with The Guardian, Megan spoke about working with Beyoncé. "I got a call: Beyoncé wants to do a remix to 'Savage'," she said, adding, "And I was like … what? Shut up. Shut up. You're lying. Beyoncé don’t want to get on nothing with me. Come on, it's me! I know I’m Megan Thee Stallion, but dang!"

Megan Thee Stallion is nominated for five awards at the 2020 BET awards. Her 2019 album, 'Fever', is nominated for 'Album of the Year' and she also earned a nod for Best Collaboration, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year and Viewer's Choice Award.
