Who is Jenyne Butterfly?

Jenyne, a resident of Seattle,  completed her studies in interior design and architecture. She discovered pole dancing in an exotic club and quickly found one online for her home to practice herself. A few years later her videos were posted on YouTube and she inspired an entire movement. In 2005, at the age of 21, she made the move to Las Vegas to pursue a career in entertainment. She performed in Le Reve in 2006 and started a company, (Mariposa Entertainment Artists) booking talent at special events in 2007.

She won the first US Pole Dance Federation Championship and earned silver in the world finals in 2009. Jenyne toured to 45 countries instructing master classes, judging competitions and performing. Then Cirque du Soleil called in 2012. Jenyne created the Dirty Diana act on the first curvy pole apparatus for Michael Jackson ONE where she performed for five years. She has performed in music videos, movies, commercials, been seen on billboards, magazine covers and with world famous DJs such as David Guetta, Tiesto, and Paul Oakenfold where she created the first-ever aerial pole. She has written and directed three full stage production shows with her husband’s company Luja Productions. Jenyne's talent is unparalleled and her passion shines through in all that she does.

She is married to Luis Perez and the couple have two kids together. Jenyne and her husband tied the knot on May 19, 2020 in Puerto Rico. The couple had been together for more than seven years and engaged for about 15 months. They met for the first time when Jenyne joined Cirque and two years after their first meeting, the couple welcomed their first child, son Angel.

She is currently choreographing, constantly creating, and enjoys teaching pole/aerial classes in Las Vegas and around the world. “My performing career has been extremely enjoyable and taken my world to new heights, but teaching and creating….meeting face to face with absolutely lovely humans…that’s one of the best things I’ve been lucky enough to experience in this lifetime."

She has previously appeared in Adam Shankman's film 'Rock of Ages' (2012). The film starred Tom Cruise and Julianne Hough in the lead roles.
