'Medical Police': This 'Childrens Hospital' spinoff ends with a cliffhanger, so will it be back for Season 2?

There is a big twist towards the end. Does that mean the duo will return to solve another mysterious medical case?

Created by the team behind 'Childrens Hospital', 'Medical Police' follows two doctor cops who unwittingly discover a civilization-threatening virus. Recruited as secret government agents, Owen Maestro (Rob Huebel) and Lola Spratt (Erinn Hayes) try to unlock the dark conspiracy at the center of the outbreak.

In their race against time to find a cure for the illness, the series paces ahead with parodies on the crime world and medical facilities. Not only does the Netflix show pass for an action-packed thriller and a suspenseful medical drama but also a globetrotting comedy series.

While the series seems to be a fun watch if you skip the senseless parts, it is unclear if it is meant to be a one-season wonder or has plans to expand into a larger universe. Through Season 1, the mystery of finding a cure for the virus is solved. However, at the end of Episode 10, there is a major cliffhanger.

After setting everything back to normal with the bizarre cure, which comes down to "breathing, sneezing and coughing on their friends", the two go back to being doctors at Childrens Hospital. The two seem to be relieved and Lola even tells Owen, "It feels back to be done with all the insanity and being back to the place we love."

But there is a big twist towards the end. On TV, there is a breaking newscast where a gang is found with gene-altering technology. Right at that moment, Sloane McIntyre (Sarayu Blue), a special agent for a covert division of the CDC, calls them. Does that mean the duo will return to solve another mysterious medical case? Only time will tell. But as far as predictions go, it seems quite likely that the makers will soon announce a new season if the first one manages to rack up good ratings.

Also starring Malin Akerman, Lake Bell, Rob Corddry, and Ken Marino, the series premieres on Netflix on Friday, January 10.
