Scarlett Johansson's 'Black Widow' is 100 days away from hitting the big screen and Marvel Studios released a countdown teaser marking the date. For those of you hoping that there will be something new in the clip, we're afraid it's nada. However, the 13-second clip looks an awful lot like the intro of the hit cartoon series, 'The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest'.

There are fleeting sequences of Natasha Romanoff (Johansson) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) vrooming off on the bike, followed by a clip of David Harbour's Red Guardian fending off baddies and donning his suit. It ends with the whoop-inducing shot of Nat jumping off a bridge and zig-zagging through debris while being airborne.

'Black Widow' marks the dawn of MCU's Phase 4 and will most likely tell the story of Nat's past that was first teased in 'The Avengers' (2012).  The first-ever Natasha spin-off comes after fans have been rooting for the movie ever since we were introduced to the character in 'Iron Man 2' (2010.) According to the teaser footage revealed by Johansson, who has played the role from the start, we see the character in places like Budapest, which is a familiar place for Natasha in almost all Marvel movies.

The teaser shows two fighting sequences of her, but not much else is known about the plot. "I think you'll learn about what Natasha is afraid of, and I think you'll learn about what parts of herself she's afraid of," said Johansson at Marvel’s SDCC 2019 Phase 4 event. The story will be based on the character originally created by Stan Lee, scripter Don Rico, and artist Don Heck for Marvel Comics. The movie will mark the first MCU installment directed solely by a woman — Cate Shortland. The Australian director is known for 'Berlin Syndrome' (2017), 'Lore' (2012), and 'Somersault' (2004).

'Black Widow' hits theaters on May 1, 2020.
