KINGSTOWN, MICHIGAN: As 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 unfolds, the relationship between Mayor Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) and Kareem Moore (Michael Beach), interim Warden of the Kingstown Prison, has taken a dramatic turn, with their differences becoming increasingly apparent.

Their contrasting approaches to dealing with the challenges facing Kingstown have led to disagreements and conflicts. While Mike seeks to maintain peace and order through strategic alliances and diplomatic measures, Kareem appears more inclined to solve problems on his own.

The rift between Mike and Kareem is not only evident in their professional lives but also in their personal interactions. Certain scenes showing their interactions reveal a growing distance and lack of understanding between them.

With the two most important leaders preoccupied with their own issues, opportunities arise for others to advance their agendas. Inmates and other factions in Kingstown can exploit the rivalry between Kareem and Mike to their advantage.

How can inmates and gangs in Kingstown benefit from the rivalry between Kareem and Mike?

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Mike seems to have lost some of his ability to anticipate the actions of key gang members in Kingstown. He learned about Konstantin's (Yorick van Wageningen) arrival only after the police discovered Tatiana's (Gratiela Brancusi) body and her child in a garbage bin.

If Mike had been aware of his arrival earlier, he might have been able to prevent the tragic incidents from occurring. Mike's delayed awareness of Merle Callahan's (Richard Brake) arrival further underscores his diminishing influence over the city's affairs.

Mike only decided to meet Merle after the bomb attack outside the Kingstown Police Department caused chaos.

If Kareem and Mike had worked together, they could have avoided this major problem. Kareem could have passed important information to Mike, who would have then responded immediately. However, Kareem's insistence on working alone led to trouble.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 Episode 2, Big Hush (Jock McKissic) suddenly falls ill, exhibiting symptoms like foaming at the mouth and intense pain before ultimately dying and vomiting a white substance. It is revealed that drug overdose was the cause of death. The question then arises: how did drugs enter the prison?

Possibly, Merle planned the drug smuggling to cause harm to inmates and send a message to Mike. Kareem, as the warden of the prison, could have passed information about Merle's arrival beforehand, potentially preventing the incident. However, his ego and reluctance to collaborate with Mike may have hindered him from taking action.

Kareem deliberately chose not to inform Mike about Merle’s transfer to Kingstown prison, fully aware of how it would impact the hierarchy of the Aryan Brotherhood leadership.

The rivalry between Merle and Mike is creating a power struggle that is benefiting the inmates, as they are exploiting the situation to gain privileges and advantages within the prison.

They are able to smuggle drugs into the prison without facing any consequences. This not only highlights the corruption or security lapses within the prison system but also emphasizes the challenges faced by authorities, including Kareem and Mike, in maintaining control.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 Episode 3, when Mike went to visit Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon), Kareem forcefully entered and questioned Mike's presence, stating that he is not part of the Kingstown Police Department and demanding that he leave. This confrontation underscores the tension and power dynamics at play within the prison, as well as Kareem's authority and willingness to assert it, even against someone like Mike.

Kareem rejected Mike’s informal position as mayor, believing that it should not wield power, and thus refused to involve Mike in important decisions. Little did he realize that Mike could have been helpful in establishing peace within the prison.

By taking away Mike’s access to the prison, Kareem has effectively cut him off from crucial information, hindering Mike's ability to perform his duties as mayor effectively. This puts Kingstown's safety at risk as Mike is unable to address issues within the prison that could impact the residents of Kingstown.

If this situation continues, Raphael (D Smoke) could become successful in facilitating the drug trade inside the prison. Meanwhile, Merle may continue to wreak havoc and smuggle drugs into the facility, taking advantage of the growing rift between Kareem and Mike.

When Hush died, Raphael sliced open Hush's belly to retrieve the drugs and sell them to other inmates. Raphael is capable of anything, and the rivalry between Kareem and Mike would only benefit him.

Merle could collaborate with Konstantin to escalate the turmoil inside the prison, potentially leading to a prison riot. Such a riot could endanger not just the prison but also the vulnerable people of Kingstown.

Kingstown's safety at risk as Kareem continues to isolate Mike in 'Mayor of Kingstown'

As Kareem continues to isolate Mike, the safety of Kingstown hangs in the balance.

If inmates sell drugs to Kingstown's residents, it poses a serious threat to the community. The influx of drugs can lead to increased addiction rates, which in turn can result in a rise in drug-related deaths and violent crimes.

Drug trafficking from the prison can also fuel gang activity and turf wars in Kingstown as different groups compete for control of the drug trade. This can put the lives of residents at risk.

To address this threat effectively, it is crucial for authorities like Kareem and Mike to work together. Their collaboration can help identify and dismantle drug trafficking networks, improve surveillance and security measures, and provide support and rehabilitation for those affected by drug addiction.

Kareem needs to reconcile with Mike soon in 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, or there could be serious repercussions affecting both the inmates and the residents of Kingstown.
